ROOTPAGENAME is the base of Minda905 on the Survival 4 world of the Dogcraft Server.
ROOTPAGENAME was the base of Minda905 on the Survival 4 world of the Dogcraft Server, located in the sea around 3200 blocks south of Husky Spawn, founded in August of 2020.

About
Ingrid Islands is the homestead of Minda905, founded in August 2020 and located in the sea southwest of the SRN Alpine Station on Husky, or about 3200 blocks south of spawn. The base is accessible via connection to the NTN south tunnel or via /phome Ingrid Islands.

It consisted of six islands that were terraformed around an originally small landmass and held many historically inspired buildings and vessels. At the heart of the base was a villa overlooking a harbour – with its central tower staircase reaching all the way down to bedrock, sprouting several corridors and rooms leading to storages, farms, and themed rooms.

What started out as a tiny piece of land has over time been terraformed into a larger island with smaller surrounding ones. The main island holds the central harbour to the south overlooked by Villa Ingrid, and the villager trading hall on the eastern pier. On the north/northeast side of the island you’ll find the guest houses and plantations, as well as a view of the lighthouse. Continuing around west lies the greenhouse, the harbourside beach and further out in the sea you can view Fort Boyard.
Building development history
After unsuccessful attempts traveling around to find a suitable base location in the north of Husky Minda scouted a tiny island south of spawn on the dynmap, voyaged to its location and set base. Following a few nights spent in the mines and a makeshift hut, the villa was the first build to be constructed, followed by a bridge (later re-worked into the western pier of the harbour) leading out to a ship docking at its edge.

The tower stairwell of the villa stretches all the way down to bedrock, connecting to several rooms, utilities, farms, and even some secret passages and rooms.

An active decision was made to expand underground and terraform the main island in parallel due to lack of space for buildings above sea-level. Development then continued in an organic fashion, with new additions being put in place as needs for farmable resources or ideas for structures came about. The underground was to host farms and storages with a couple of special themed rooms, while the builds above ground were mostly decor.<gallery mode="packed" caption="Progress maps">

The first additional island was built to the northeast in November of 2020 and ended up being used for farming chorus plants. Following that in January of 2021 was the lighthouse island, which covers up a cactus farm. Progress was quite steady, with a lot of focus on infrastructure. Then, as Minda got involved in other projects around the server, progress became more sporadic.

The entire base lies within an area spanning 256x257 blocks, all visible on four maps.

Lore
It wasn’t until the summer of 2021 that some major additions would be founded – following the finishing of Fort Boyard to the west, and the flagship M/S Cinnamon south of the harbour, came the outline for the northern islands, upon which the Chapel and the Inn were placed. Coming into September of the same year, progress was put to a full stop as Minda joined in with the events team to prepare the Music Quiz for Halloween. Work at the base was then picked back up in November, seeing continued development of the northern islands as well as additions of some 1.17 farms.
Ingrid Island was founded a long time ago, after a storm had shipwrecked the original settlers upon its shores. The small island was bursting with a remarkable amount of wildlife and greenery for its small size, and its location close to the trading routes made it even more attractive. The settlers quickly got to building the Villa, laid the foundations for the central harbour and started to farm the land for resources. However, they were soon faced with the matter of needing more land - and decided to expand into the ground below the villa to preserve as much as they could of the original nature and wildlife; with a stairwell leading all the way down to bedrock, sprouting corridors, rooms and farms from its sides.

Over time Ingrid Island expanded and gained a reputation as a popular hub for sailing traders and travellers on the deep seas of Husky.

Style
In the last months of Survival 4 a lot of work and revision was put into the natural exterior and decoration of the base a staple event being the finalization of the island’s terraforming in January of 2022. Effort was also put into finishing up all of the interiors for the Inn and cottages. The final touch to the base was the addition of the Noteblock Basics room in the underground Music Hall, and on March 7th 2022, one week before the server closed, Minda decided that Ingrid Islands were finished.<gallery mode="packed" caption="Ingrid Islands - Before and after">
The style is largely historically inspired (not necessarily medieval) – the builder herself having a liking of architecture from the turn of the 19th-20th century. The main house on the island - Villa Ingrid - is a take on a castle-like Swedish house built in 1902, but with a tudor look to it.

The main materials used in the builds consist mostly of grey toned blocks such as the different varieties of stone but also white concrete and clay. Prominent details feature oak, spruce and dark oak materials. For a splash of colour, cyan, green and orange blocks such as varieties of prismarine, warped planks, terracotta and acacia have been used, specially for roofs, with the addition of crimson and quartz for transportation vessels.
Style and block palette
<br />
The architectural style was realistic and historically inspired, not necessarily adhering to any specific era but blending elements together to form a unique look. The block palette was never set but rather developed as the base came along, but to keep a sense of coherence, features and elements from earlier structures were combined with other materials and shapes to create something new. Notable is that the earlier structures feature no to some block variation, while the later ones start to make use of gradients – a result of Minda growing more confident as a builder and trying new techniques.

Villa Ingrid Interiors
The first floor of the villa features a checkered plank floor of oak and birch as well as a chiselled quartz ceiling with oak logs throughout the entry-, map room, kitchen/dining and living room with a semi-open floor plan. The interior has been designed to give a feel of a decorative yet functional space – the kitchen being dedicated storage for food items and mob drops for example.

Materials most used in the exteriors consists of grey toned blocks such as varieties of stone, andesite, concrete powder and clay, along with lighter tones of diorite, calcite and white concrete. Prominent attributes such as house corners, roof trimmings and the like features in oak, spruce, and dark oak materials. Prismarines, warped planks, terracotta, acacia, grassblocks, bricks and granite have been used to add some colour, especially for roofs and other details.

The attic features a stripped dark-oak floor laid out in a fish-bone pattern. Here you’ll find the main storage room as well as a bedroom and enchanting setup. The ceiling-walls are decorated with several prizes, gifts and memorabilia items which Minda has collected over her time on the server, and you can find them throughout the entire base. The stairwell leads up into an open tower for easy access with elytra, but also stretches all the way down to bedrock.

For interiors - specifically under the villa -, Minda decided to variate each room and to not follow a certain style or block palette. This was an active decision to help her discover and develop her building- and decorating skills. However, valved and/or colourful patterned ceilings as well as chequered floors were recurrent throughout.

The rooms, farms and utilities connected to the stairwell all feature unique block pallets and designs, with special care for ceilings and floors, and in some cases for the wallpapers as well. This design choice was intentional, mainly to set the rooms apart, but it was also a way for Minda to develop her building and decoration skills.
Points of interest
<br />
Ingrid Islands held many points of interest, among them the greenhouse and harbour trading office on the main island. Northsides were several scattered cottages, a lighthouse, chapel, inn, loggery and a pavillion. Within the base there was also a memory hall, a hidden entrance to a [[Helper|[Helper]]]-office and a secret axolotl cave.<gallery mode="packed">

While these builds certainly were unique and special in their own way, the few more notable attractions were as follows:
Villa Ingrid
At the heart of the base was Villa Ingrid, overlooking the harbour and serving as Mindas home on the Survival 4 world of Husky. The house was inspired by a real-life building constructed in 1902 but dressed up in a Tudor-look, the main materials used were stone varieties, oak, spruce, and white concrete.

Farms & other features
The central tower on the front side held a staircase reaching all the way down to bedrock, sprouting several corridors and rooms leading to storages, farms, and themed rooms.
Below ground are several farms, utilities, rooms and storages connected to and accessible via the tower stairwell. These include:
<br />

*Bulk storage for stone and colour blocks - Featuring a prismarine ceiling with dark oak cornices and a checkered floor of polished andesite and smoothstone. In here you will also find Minda’s small mob head collection displayed on the wall.<br />
There was no large storage room in a “traditional” sense where all things were kept together in one spot at this base. Items were rather spread out into smaller rooms and units – farmable items usually kept by their respective farms. Food items, brewing supplies and mob-drops were kept in the kitchen, stone- and colour blocks in a dedicated hall, while the main storage room was up in the attic beside the bed corner and enchanting setup. This was result of the organic development of the base but also a choice made to make the space feel more like an actual “lived in” home/place rather than “just a base” - or in other words, a decorative yet functional space.<gallery mode="packed">
*Flowerfarm - This room has a blue concrete/lapis lazuli ceiling framed with spruce logs. It was first intended to become a storage room but then got used for housing smaller farms which in the end were replaced by the flowerfarm, a design of Minda’s own making.<br />
File:Villa Ingrid.png|Villa Ingrid overlooking the harbour on Feb. 26th, 2022.
*Smelter setup - A setup with 32 furnaces, merging designs by Minestop and Mumbo Jumbo. The room “behind the scenes” features a quartz floor and a valved red ceiling with dark oak details.<br />
File:Attic Storage.png|The attic storage room, where Minda kept most of her items.
*Kelp farm - In close proximity to the smelter setup lies the kelp farm, another self designed contraption, built with the intent of supplying the smelter with fuel. This room is undecorated.<br />
File:Kitchen 2021-01-14 00.31.01.png|Minda standing by the edge of the dining table inside Villa Ingrid on Jan. 14th, 2021.
*Netherportal - Displaying a small crimson nether landscape behind it, the portal leads into a circular nether hub with dark gray walls and a quartz ceiling, from which a chandelier hangs down over the portal. In here you will also find a basalt generator, as well as connections to the south NTN tunnel and Pinksville.<br />
</gallery>
*Combined sugarcane and bamboo farm - Through windows in the wall you can see the eight modules of TangoTek’s sugarcane farm stacked on top of each other. As you lift your gaze you can spot the green glazed terracotta ceiling.<br />
*Manual concrete converter - After a design by CubFan135<br />
*Fern and grass farm - After a design by Etho<br />
*Pumpkin and melon farm - After a design by ilmango, connected to an automatic sorting system. Once the chests are filled the overflow will be converted into bonemeal. When the storage is entirely filled the entire contraption will turn off and a redstone lamp will be lit.  The room features a checkered plank floor of dark oak and spruce, the walls are lined with composters, light gray stained glass with stripped warped hyphae behind it, and spruce log pillars, holding up the dark oak ceiling.<br />
*Wool farm - A contraption of Minda’s own making, featured in a long corridor with oak floor and a red wol/crimson nylium carpet and a valved ceiling made of red bricks.<br />
*Music hall - Serving as a central hub for the project Mindas Musical Contraptions is the Music Hall. Through a dark gray corridor - which displays a list of finished music contraptions - we’re led into an octagonal hall, with provided audience seating and a grand organ at the back. Four tall basalt pillars stretch up into the yellow terracotta and dark prismarine ceiling from where a white stained glass chandelier is hanging. Deocrative miniblocks are placed around the walls to represent the 16 available sounds that can be produced by placing a noteblock on top of them. By stretching in and tuning the noteblocks, or pressing the buttons on the back of the organ - you can listen to an excerpt from J.S. Bach’s Badinerie.  To the left of the hall is another short corridor leading into a room lined with colourful autumn trees and a glass floor through which you can see another noteblock contraption. This one plays an original tune by Minda called “Höstregn” (Autumn Rains). It was made to be an interactive experience, letting the player take control over the performance by choosing the parts that will be played each loop by using four levers.<br />

*Cave spider spawner - Through a tunnel lined with coral blocks and oak framing you can take a 20 second ride in a minecart to arrive at the cave spider spawner. The room carries on the coral block walls and is edged by stripped acacia logs with dark oak details, carrying an orange ceiling adorned by a glass chandelier. The spawner was a late find and is used mostly for the mob drops rather than xp.<br />
Music Hall
One of the special themed rooms in the base was the Music Hall, which served as the central hub for Minda's project of creating various Musical Contraptions around the server. A short corridor with a display list of finished music contraptions led into an octagonal hall with a grand organ as its centrepiece. By reaching in and tuning one of the noteblocks in the organ you could start the music contraption which played an excerpt of Badinerie by J.S. Bach, installed underneath the floorboards. Placed on the walls around the hall were decorative miniblocks, chosen to represent the 16 available sounds that can be produced when placing a noteblock on top of them.

*Crop farm, including netherwart and cocoa beans - A half-manual farm for all crops. Six sets of stairs with four levels of 4x4 farmland plots are fenced off with trap door railings and pillars of jungle logs. At the top are pools of water connected to sticky pistons, all controlled by a central lever in the front for easy harvest. The crops get flushed into a hopper line below the stairs and then get transported into a filtered sorting system.  The room is walled with bricks and granite, and the ceiling is made of warped wart blocks held up by the jungle log pillars and decorative dark oak arches. Two bonemeal converters are also accessible to convert excess produce.<br />
*Mushroom farm - Almost at the bottom of the stairwell you’ll find the mushroom farm, a design inspired by Xisuma’s creation in Hermitcraft Season 7. Big and small mushrooms are growing in spruce pallet collars on the floors, filled with mycelium and lined with spruce trapdoors. The stone floor is covered in moss and grass, thriving in the damp cellar climate, with vines climbing the short end walls of the room. The growing modules can be sighted through glass walls on the long ends, capped off by a valved light gray terracotta ceiling with spruce roof beams.<br />
*Vine farm - In a room with a high leafed ceiling are all the three varieties of vines growing in four tall oak log frames, edged by walls with balconies for easier harvesting access.

On the left side of the hall was a room lined with colourful autumn trees (built in collaboration with Chriizsich) and a display of a noteblock contraption under a glass floor. This contraption played an original tune composed by Minda called Höstregn (Autumn Rains), and was made to give players an interactive experience, letting them take control over the performance by choosing the parts that would be played each loop with the use of four levers, one for each instrument.

Other farms and utilities accessible on other parts of the islands are:
Space was made to the right of the main hall for a third contraption, but it remained empty for a long time due to “Minda not finding the perfect song to put there”. Instead, the noteblock basics room was created as one of the last additions to the base. In there you could learn about the mechanics and how to get started on creating noteblock machines.<gallery mode="packed">

Fort Boyard
*Eggfarm (under the first guesthouse)
The oblong seafort located west of the harbour - Fort Boyard - rested upon a fully terraformed island made of basalt. Within its structure was the minigame “Dunk”, in which two players, armed with bows and arrows, would compete to get to the top first. Whilst trying to do this, they could also “dunk” their opponent into the water by shooting at targetblocks underneath the logs which made up the parkour course on the walls.

*Sweet berry plantation (on the northeastern slope of the island)

On occasion Minda invited friends and cyberdogs to come hang out and play the game at her base. During one of these instances, involving PerskyPuff, the fort was nicknamed “The Ooval”, as a reference to its oblong shape. This amused Minda and Persky very much at the time and had them both bursting into uncontrollable laughs and giggles.<gallery mode="packed">

Yet another larger flowerfarm, a skelleton spawner, a creeperfarm and a treefarm has been made to serve Ingrid Island with resources, but have been built in other parts of the world away from the base.
Harbour and Ships
<br />
During the season the harbour and surrounding seas were populated with vessels of various kinds. The purpose was to bring interest to the surroundings and more life to the base as well as contributing to the lore-idea of the Isles being a well-known travel and trade spot for seafarers and voyagers.

Transportation vessels
The vessels mainly featured in colourful attires of dark prismarine, dark oak, crimson planks, warped stems, white wool, quartz, and mushroom stem.
Ingrid Island, being a hub for sailing merchants and travellers, has several ships and boats of different sizes and services registered in its logbooks.

Currently docked or sailing in/out are:
<br />

*Moonriver - A merchant vessel modeled after the standard minecraft shipwreck featuring materials such as dark prismarine, warped hyphae, crimson planks and dark oak.
Whenever a ship was finished, Minda performed a small ritual to properly name it. This was done by throwing a re-named splash water bottle with the ships name on its hull, followed by putting up a sign. All the ships were then added to the Harbour ledger:<br />
*Charlie’s Canoe Service - A local service offering rentals of colorful sturdy canoes, named after Minda’s first pet dog on the server, Charlie.
*Hajanga - A smaller private sailing vessel made mainly of oak
*Jolly Bear - Sailing boat that came bearing birthday gifts for Minda, built by Chriizsich. The addition was very appreciated and was left to sail into the harbour.
*M/S Cinnamon - A larger merchant’s ship featuring the same materials as Moonriver, originally designed by Lord Darkr.

*Moonriver - Modelled after a Minecraft shipwreck and one of the first structures to be built at the base.
*Charlies Island Canoe Service - Named after Minda's first pet dog on the server.
*Hajanga - Named after Mindas favourite song at the time.
*Jolly Bear - Built in secret by Chriizsich as a birthday present.
*M/S Cinnamon - The flagship of the Ingrid Island Fleet, constructed after a tutorial by Lord Dakr and named after the cinnamon bun miniblock of Minda's own design.
*Silmarillion - The loggery's cargo ship, with PerskyPuff appointed as Captain.
*Meja - Another sailing ship built after a tutorial by Lord Dakr.
*Joy, Coloratura and Lovis - All variants on Jolly Bear, dedicated to Minda's siblings.

Yet another transportation vessel, but of the aviator kind, can be sighted from the east shores; a white airplane tailed with a banner, a birthday gift built by N1cM4tth3w63. This gift was also highly appreciated and to keep it safe it was moved about 10 blocks east into the claim, which also renders it visible in the maps overlooking the base.

Fort Boyard
Farms and utilities
The seafort located southwest of the main island - Fort Boyard - lies upon a fully terraformed island made of basalt. The structure is oblong and rounded in shape with an open center, has a bridge across the top and a circular tower in the south end. In here you’ll find the minigame “Dunk”, in which two players, armed with bows and arrows, compete to get to the top first while trying to “dunk” the opponent into the water by shooting the targets underneath the logs that make the parkour course on the walls.
While the exterior of the base was mostly reserved for aesthetic purposes, the inner workings situated underground held most of the farms and utilities.

Being somewhat interested in redstone made Minda variate between making her own designs, outright following tutorials and/or adapting them to fit her needs. In attempts to reduce item overflow and lag, several of the farms were togglable, half-manual or installed with automatic “turn-off” systems based on comparator outputs from the storage points.

Ingrid Islands was the base of 20.png Minda905 on the Survival 4 world of the Dogcraft Server, located in the sea around 3200 blocks south of Husky Spawn, founded in August of 2020.

An active decision was made to expand underground and terraform the main island in parallel due to lack of space for buildings above sea-level. Development then continued in an organic fashion, with new additions being put in place as needs for farmable resources or ideas for structures came about. The underground was to host farms and storages with a couple of special themed rooms, while the builds above ground were mostly decor.

In the last months of Survival 4 a lot of work and revision was put into the natural exterior and decoration of the base – a staple event being the finalization of the island’s terraforming in January of 2022. Effort was also put into finishing up all of the interiors for the Inn and cottages. The final touch to the base was the addition of the Noteblock Basics room in the underground Music Hall, and on March 7th 2022, one week before the server closed, Minda decided that Ingrid Islands were finished.

Style and block palette

The architectural style was realistic and historically inspired, not necessarily adhering to any specific era but blending elements together to form a unique look. The block palette was never set but rather developed as the base came along, but to keep a sense of coherence, features and elements from earlier structures were combined with other materials and shapes to create something new. Notable is that the earlier structures feature no to some block variation, while the later ones start to make use of gradients – a result of Minda growing more confident as a builder and trying new techniques.

For interiors - specifically under the villa -, Minda decided to variate each room and to not follow a certain style or block palette. This was an active decision to help her discover and develop her building- and decorating skills. However, valved and/or colourful patterned ceilings as well as chequered floors were recurrent throughout.

Points of interest

Ingrid Islands held many points of interest, among them the greenhouse and harbour trading office on the main island. Northsides were several scattered cottages, a lighthouse, chapel, inn, loggery and a pavillion. Within the base there was also a memory hall, a hidden entrance to a [Helper]-office and a secret axolotl cave.

The central tower on the front side held a staircase reaching all the way down to bedrock, sprouting several corridors and rooms leading to storages, farms, and themed rooms.

This was result of the organic development of the base but also a choice made to make the space feel more like an actual “lived in” home/place rather than “just a base” - or in other words, a decorative yet functional space.

On the left side of the hall was a room lined with colourful autumn trees (built in collaboration with 20.png Chriizsich) and a display of a noteblock contraption under a glass floor. This contraption played an original tune composed by Minda called Höstregn (Autumn Rains), and was made to give players an interactive experience, letting them take control over the performance by choosing the parts that would be played each loop with the use of four levers, one for each instrument.

Space was made to the right of the main hall for a third contraption, but it remained empty for a long time due to “Minda not finding the perfect song to put there”. Instead, the noteblock basics room was created as one of the last additions to the base. In there you could learn about the mechanics and how to get started on creating noteblock machines.

Fort Boyard

The oblong seafort located west of the harbour - Fort Boyard - rested upon a fully terraformed island made of basalt. Within its structure was the minigame “Dunk”, in which two players, armed with bows and arrows, would compete to get to the top first. Whilst trying to do this, they could also “dunk” their opponent into the water by shooting at targetblocks underneath the logs which made up the parkour course on the walls.

On occasion Minda invited friends and cyberdogs to come hang out and play the game at her base. During one of these instances, involving 20.png PerskyPuff, the fort was nicknamed “The Ooval”, as a reference to its oblong shape. This amused Minda and Persky very much at the time and had them both bursting into uncontrollable laughs and giggles.

Harbour and Ships

During the season the harbour and surrounding seas were populated with vessels of various kinds. The purpose was to bring interest to the surroundings and more life to the base as well as contributing to the lore-idea of the Isles being a well-known travel and trade spot for seafarers and voyagers.

The vessels mainly featured in colourful attires of dark prismarine, dark oak, crimson planks, warped stems, white wool, quartz, and mushroom stem.

Whenever a ship was finished, Minda performed a small ritual to properly name it. This was done by throwing a re-named splash water bottle with the ships name on its hull, followed by putting up a sign. All the ships were then added to the Harbour ledger:

 • Moonriver - Modelled after a Minecraft shipwreck and one of the first structures to be built at the base.
 • Charlies Island Canoe Service - Named after Minda's first pet dog on the server.
 • Hajanga - Named after Mindas favourite song at the time.
 • Jolly Bear - Built in secret by 20.png Chriizsich as a birthday present.
 • M/S Cinnamon - The flagship of the Ingrid Island Fleet, constructed after a tutorial by Lord Dakr and named after the cinnamon bun miniblock of Minda's own design.
 • Silmarillion - The loggery's cargo ship, with 20.png PerskyPuff appointed as Captain.
 • Meja - Another sailing ship built after a tutorial by Lord Dakr.
 • Joy, Coloratura and Lovis - All variants on Jolly Bear, dedicated to Minda's siblings.

Yet another transportation vessel, but of the aviator kind, could be sighted from the east shores of the island; a white airplane tailed with a banner, which was a birthday gift built for Minda by 20.png N1cM4tth3w63.

Farms and utilities

While the exterior of the base was mostly reserved for aesthetic purposes, the inner workings situated underground held most of the farms and utilities.

Being somewhat interested in redstone made Minda variate between making her own designs, outright following tutorials and/or adapting them to fit her needs. In attempts to reduce item overflow and lag, several of the farms were togglable, half-manual or installed with automatic “turn-off” systems based on comparator outputs from the storage points.

The following farms and utilities could be found at Ingrid Islands:

 • Flowerfarm
 • Smelter setup
 • Kelp farm
 • Basalt farm (in the netherportal hub)
 • Concrete converter
 • Sugarcane & Bamboo farm
 • Honey farm
 • Sweet berry plantation

 • Crop farm, including netherwart and cocoa beans
 • Mushroom farm
 • Vine farm
 • Cactus farm
 • Tree farm
 • Moss and azalea farm
 • Dripstone
 • Several bonemeal outputs and converters

Yet another larger flowerfarm, a skeleton spawner, a creeperfarm and a second treefarm were made to serve Ingrid Island with resources but were built in other parts of the world away from the base.
