Dogcraft is operated by Dogcraft LLC, hosted in Texas, United States, and accessible via the website at dogcraft.net or the minecraft server at server.dogcraft.net.

This Terms and Privacy Policy applies only to our online activities and is valid for visitors to our website and minecraft server with regards to the information that they shared and/or collect in Dogcraft.

This policy is not applicable to any information collected offline or via channels other than this website or the minecraft server.

Consent

By using our website and/or minecraft server, you hereby consent to our Terms and Privacy Policy.

Information we collect

The personal information that you are asked to provide, and the reasons why you are asked to provide it, will be made clear to you at the point we ask you to provide your personal information.

If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide.

When you register for an Account, we ask for your personal information, including items such as name, email address and date of birth.

On our Minecraft servers we collect player information and a number of player statistics including but not limited to Minecraft UUID and player name, internet protocol (IP) address, location, in-game statistics, ping information, activity, chat and command history and sessions.

To provide Patreon rewards we also collect Patreon-linked users current pledge amount and user ID. Patreon is covered in detail in its own section below.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect in various ways, including to:

Provide, operate, and maintain our website and minecraft server
Improve, personalize, and expand our website and minecraft server
Understand and analyze how you use our website and minecraft server
Develop new products, services, features, and functionality
Communicate with you via email, Discord or other connected platform. Emails sent include but are not limited to account email verification and password resets
Find and prevent fraud

Patreon

There are four things Dogcraft can do with Patreon, and none of them happens automatically. Signing up with Patreon includes linking your account, as described below. The rest are separate choices you make on their own, and turning one on does not turn on another.

Dogcraft can only ever read from Patreon. It cannot post, edit, delete or charge anything on your account, and it never receives payment card or bank details for anyone. Those stay with Patreon and are never sent to us.

1. Signing up with Patreon

Optional: you can register with an email address and password, or with Discord, instead. If you choose Patreon, we ask Patreon for your email address and whether Patreon has verified it. That address becomes your Dogcraft account's email, and registration will not complete if Patreon reports it as unverified. We ask for nothing else: no name, profile picture, postal address or connected social accounts.

Registering this way also links your Patreon account at the same time, so everything in "Linking your Patreon account" below applies from the start. You can unlink it later without losing your Dogcraft account, though you will need to set a password or link Discord first so that you still have a way to sign in.

2. Linking your Patreon account

This is what grants the pledge tiers and perks shown on the site. When you link Patreon in your account settings we store:

Your Patreon account ID, which is a number, not a name
Your membership ID for Dogcraft's own campaign, and the amount you are currently entitled to
An access token issued by Patreon, which you can revoke at any time from your Patreon account settings

Linking on its own asks Patreon for none of your name, profile picture, postal address or connected social accounts, and not your email address either. Signing up with Patreon, above, is the only time we ask for the email address. Patreon's own authorisation screen describes the permission as covering all of that information, because it is describing everything the permission allows rather than what we request. What we actually ask for is a fixed list of fields, and none of those are on it.

Your pledge amount is re-read from Patreon about once a day. Unlinking Patreon from your Dogcraft account settings stops that and removes the record.

3. Sharing which creators you support

Optional, off unless you turn it on, and separate from the link above. It lets creators who have connected their own Patreon campaign to Dogcraft recognise you as one of their patrons, so they can give you whatever they offer without you having to ask.

Turning it on requires a second, wider authorisation on Patreon. With it, Patreon tells us about every campaign you support, not only ours. We keep only the ones belonging to creators connected to Dogcraft and discard the rest in the same operation. They are not stored, logged or shown to anyone. For the campaigns we do keep, we store:

Your Patreon account ID and that membership's ID
Whether the pledge is active, and its tier and amount
When the pledge started, and the status and date of the last charge

Again, no names and no email addresses. A creator who connects their campaign can see which of their patrons have Dogcraft accounts, and which Minecraft players those are. They cannot see who else you support, and nobody other than that creator can see it either.

None of this appears on your public profile. If you want it to, there is a separate per-creator badge setting you can turn on for any connected creator you support, and turn off again at any time.

Shared memberships are re-read about once a day, and you can ask for a check sooner from your settings. Turning sharing off deletes everything we read this way, immediately, and stops us reading it again.

4. Connecting a campaign as a creator

Creators can connect their own Patreon campaign so that their bots and plugins can ask Dogcraft whether a given player is one of their patrons.

Connecting a campaign gives Dogcraft no access to its patron list. We ask Patreon for the campaign's name and its patron count, and nothing else. We cannot read who pledges to you, their names, their email addresses or the list itself. The patrons a creator can see are only those who have linked a Dogcraft account and separately chosen to share, as described above.

For a connected campaign we store:

The campaign's ID and name, and its patron count
The Patreon account ID of whoever authorised it
An access token issued by Patreon, held encrypted, which you can revoke at any time from your Patreon account settings
API keys you create, stored only as a hash, so a lost key is replaced rather than recovered

The lookup API answers only about players a creator asks about by name, and only ever with pledge status, tier and amount. It has no endpoint that lists patrons. A creator using this data remains responsible for how they use it, and for their own obligations to their patrons under Patreon's terms and applicable law.

Disconnecting a campaign immediately deletes its API keys and everything patrons shared in respect of it. So does deleting the Dogcraft account that connected it.

Log Files

Dogcraft follows a standard procedure of using log files on both the website and minecraft servers. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users' movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.

Cookies

Like any other website, Dogcraft uses ‘cookies'. We use them for two things:

Signing in. Session cookies are what let you log in and stay logged in. The site cannot work without these.
Analytics. We measure page performance and overall site traffic, so we can see what is slow and which parts of the site get used. Some of this is measured without cookies at all.

We do not use cookies for advertising. We do not run adverts on Dogcraft, and we do not sell what our cookies record to anyone.

Third-Party Privacy Policies

Dogcraft's Privacy Policy does not apply to other services or websites. Thus, we are advising you to consult the respective Privacy Policies of these third-parties for more detailed information. Children's Information

Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.

Dogcraft does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.
