Le Gambit's Peninsula was Le_Gambit's base on the Survival 4 world of the Dogcraft Server.
About
Established on its own peninsula to the east of spawn on Husky, this base was made up of five main spaces. This base was conceived with the goal of exploring different styles with no intent to create a single unified building style.
The Island:
The first feature of the Peninsula was located on a small island about halfway down its length. A modern entrance led into a cozy underground space holding all the storage and main facilities. Towering above the hill was a large lighthouse, shining out to all those who travel past while also providing mediocre protection for the librarians which call it home.
Opposite the front door was a small farming complex including a free range bee farm, free range sheep farm all safely snuggled between a covered canyon and birch barbecue pavilion.
The Forest:
The eastern most point of the Peninsula was home to a large shallow water forest. The large trees and organic environment brought its own dangers for those wishing to visit the sunrise house at furthermost point. The sunrise house was built as an inside out experiment aiming to create an experience of looking out from the inside rather than the build itself. From within it, the viewer frames the morning sunrise over the surrounding fields of ice.
The Town:
Over a couple of bridges and not far away were the bulk of the farms including:
- dripstone grottos
- creeper dropper
- kelp crusher
- bamboo and sugarcane whacker
- swell super-ish smelter
- chorus fruit container
- and a few other things
There are a few decorative builds also included in this area. A buried church, an unfinished couple of houses and a fully functioning stable bore host to a number of guest visitors. Contributions were also made by Aiyn84, Lendog, Ash and Thunderwolf.
Raid fight area:
After a great deal of procrastination, the entrance to the peninsula was turned into a simplistic, but cunning, raid fight area. Designed with the view that raids were too east, traps were scattered around the area to help even the odds in favour of the villainous pillagers. The centrepiece of the danger was a fountain which hid a nasty secret for those who weren't prepared for the influx of the undead.
The area had a simple visual design with one of the highlights being a black and white pegasus crafted by the amazing Summerflower1234. A drying trickle of a riverbed worked its way through the area before meeting the sea next to a small amphitheatre.
The Stingray:
The single largest build on the Peninsula, the stingray held many little secrets. Those looking to discover a room of extreme wealth (Le_Gambit is very poor you see), a steamy onsen. a lovely library or a hidden hideout with fireworks will reward those who roam deep enough. The centrepiece was held in the main hall where visitors were welcomed by a large angel holding flowers.
This building also led into four separate ravine systems, two of which were completely flooded and covered to protect those swimming beneath from the harsh rays of the sun.
