The Tower of Tea was a whimsical build on Survival 4 of the Dogcraft Server. It was made by Minda905, PerskyPuff, and SummerFlower1234 (also known as "Team Tea") for the NTN Tower Building Contest event that was held in September 2021, in which it was awarded 1st place on Beagle.
About/History
Summer pulled the team together to start brainstorming ideas.
The theme of "Alice in Wonderland" was put on the table, which during the creative building sessions evolved into the Mad Hatters tea-party, and finally into a stacked teacup tower.
When the building on the server commenced, the team was assigned a plot in the middle of the sea on Husky. This did not fully work with their plans and so they kindly asked to get another plot, and got re-assigned to build their tower on top of a birch forest hill on Beagle 30k North-East.
Building took place over the course of the month and after adding the final touches (spawnproofing, adding beds, a food donation chest, enderchest, and the donkey Friend), the team dressed up in their Alice in Wonderland outfits and wrote the lore together in the teapot.
Lore
Welcome to the Tower of Tea.
This wobbly tower of teacups was discovered by the intrepid explorers Cheshire905, AlicePuff and the MadFlower1234.
They were travelling around the countryside taking in the strange sights of Dogcraft.
Cheshire905 checked her giant golden watch. The hand was spinning backwards.
The MadFlower1234's stomach started rumbling.
'Tea time' said Cheshire905.
AlicePuff took out her magic bag and laid a picnic table, a stack of teacups and saucers, and a teapot on the ground.
'Oh, I'm dying of hunger' cried The MadFlower1234. 'I'm dying of thirst!'
Her eyes started spiralling in circles and she waved her hands. Strange light emitted from them. The teapot started steaming and floating.
'No wait!' said AlicePuff, 'Be careful! You know your magic is unpredictable when you are hungry and thirsty!'
But it was too late.
The teapot, the picnic table, and the stack of saucers started growing in size.
Cheshire905 waved her hand and managed to stop everything from getting bigger. However, she caused a thunder and lightning storm to form and was struck.
A strange purple light emitted from the top teacup. It was a mysterious portal.
The floating teapot was still pouring it's tea.
'Where ever does this lead?' asked The MadFlower1234.
But no one knew. All they could do was gather there courage and enter the portal.
