The island, which is located about 11 thousand blocks west of Camp Beagle, was discovered on the launch day of the [[Beagle]] world. The base was originally going to be a medieval themed harbor village, with ships and trading ports, however the medieval theme wasn't leading anywhere, leaving Cookies feeling a strong case of "builders block". Because of the lack of inspiration, the decision was made to transition the base into a new style, which was possible because only a few buildings had actually been completed on the surface. After some pondering and the release of the 1.16 update, with some inspiration from Keralis1's Hermitcraft season seven base, the decision to move to the new style of modern was settled on.

To have a consistent quality of builds, the majority of buildings found throughout the base were designed in a creative test world. One of the main goals of the base was to cultivate a realistic atmosphere, with lots of detail packed into every block. To achieve this, (almost) every building sports a fancy interior, with some even having eastereggs of other members of the server, and multiple nods to popular culture (especially inside the book store). To further resemble reality, graffiti can be found in multiple places throughout the island, with some referencing the base owner, and some just being vibrant splashes of color to break up blind walls.
To ensure a consistent quality for the buildings, most of the builds were previously designed in a creative test world and copied to survival. One of the main goals of the base was to cultivate a realistic atmosphere, with lots of detail packed into every corner. One of the main ways this was achieved, was through detailed interiors. Most buildings boasted a full interior, with only a few empty rooms throughout the city. There were several Easter eggs scattered throughout the interiors, having references to other server members and pop culture.

The initial wave of inspiration came from Keralis's Hermitcraft season seven city base. While his base is more large scale, with more skyscrapers than not, the bases do share some similarities, namely in the style used. After the inspiration for the base was found, the search began for specific buildings to recreate in game. A key source of inspiration came from Lego Modular buildings, leading to copies of many modulars being represented on the island. Other inspiration came from custom built lego modular buildings, and occasionally, real life buildings in American downtowns.
Initial inspiration came from {{Player|Keralis1}}'s Hermitcraft S7 base, which was a large city with many sky scrapers. Keralis' base was more large scale, but both bases share a similar style. The inspiration for specific buildings came mainly from official and custom LEGO Modular buildings.

Located in the center of the island is the base's main storage area, which is more medieval than the rest of the island using primarily wood. The storage room remains the only reminder of the island's medieval past. Easily accessibly via a slime block jump at the bottom of the centrally-located gazebo, the storage halls have room for everyday storage, as well as bulk storage and several farms. The halls are equipped with gunpowder and flower farms, as well as a room for <s>killing dogs</s> farming moderator heads. Also exhibited is a complete collection of mini blocks, many mementoes, and a vast head collection. Before the great style swap, there were a couple farms built on the island's surface, including an automatic wool farm (which was moved to the office building), as well as a sugarcane farm, and a villager breeder, both of which were demolished to make room for renovations.
Most of the functional aspects of the island were found beneath the surface. The storage room was located centrally accessible through a slime block drop. Surrounding the storage room were a creeper farm, several small scale farms and an iron farm. The only farm to remain on the surface was a sheep farm, which was initially in the Wool Corp skyscraper, but was moved to the Office Building.

Cookies58's Island was the project, and home of 20.png Cookies58_ on the Survival 4 world of the Dogcraft Server. It was a modern/contemporary styled base modeled after traditional American downtown architecture, located on an island.

History

The base was located about 11 thousand blocks west of Camp Beagle spawn. It was initially discovered on the launch day of the Beagle world. Originally, the base was going to sport a medieval theme, with harbors and a fishing village. Unfortunately, this idea didn't lead anywhere, which led 20.png Cookies58_ to settle with the more modern design. Only a couple buildings and farms had been constructed on the surface of the island, with most of the infrastructure underground. This made the transition pretty seamless. After Dogcraft updated to version 1.16, construction on the new and improved island began.

About

To ensure a consistent quality for the buildings, most of the builds were previously designed in a creative test world and copied to survival. One of the main goals of the base was to cultivate a realistic atmosphere, with lots of detail packed into every corner. One of the main ways this was achieved, was through detailed interiors. Most buildings boasted a full interior, with only a few empty rooms throughout the city. There were several Easter eggs scattered throughout the interiors, having references to other server members and pop culture.

Inspiration

Initial inspiration came from 20.png Keralis1's Hermitcraft S7 base, which was a large city with many sky scrapers. Keralis' base was more large scale, but both bases share a similar style. The inspiration for specific buildings came mainly from official and custom LEGO Modular buildings.

Utility

Most of the functional aspects of the island were found beneath the surface. The storage room was located centrally accessible through a slime block drop. Surrounding the storage room were a creeper farm, several small scale farms and an iron farm. The only farm to remain on the surface was a sheep farm, which was initially in the Wool Corp skyscraper, but was moved to the Office Building.
