Steelgarde was the base of 20.png OldmanLP85 on the Survival 4 world of the Dogcraft Server.

About

Steelgarde was designed to be the factory base for Oldman for Season 4. With emphasis on Iron, and industrialism, the idea was to automate things to allow playing the game easier.

History

Originally planned to be on Husky, once Beagle was announced, Oldman set out, in search of a new location on the new world.

Settling on a Mooshroom island, a quick base camp was set up. From here, it was time to gear up, as the massive task of mountain eradication is Hard for stone tools. So gearing up was the first priority.

The before shot

And what do you need when you鈥檙e gearing up? But a quad spider xp farm. Perfect for those days, before the End and Pig Farm were implemented.

The iron farm begins

Next was the iron farm... but not just any Iron Farm. It needed to supply lots of iron AND cater for the demand. So custom it was.

And then came the grind... day after day, night after night, of chipping away at the mountain. Eventually a Beacon was acquired, and that sped up the process.

With the mountain flattened , time came for more formalised storage... somewhere to house the 60+ shulkers of stone. Not to mention the 10+ shulkers each of granite and other stone variants. So the main Factory was erected. Standing proud in the centre of the island, the central storage compound came complete with automated sorting.

Dotted around the main storage factory, other buildings started popping up...

  • Honey Farm
  • Cactus Farm
  • Carrot Farm
  • Wool Farm, and
  • Gunpowder Farm

The one thing that keeped getting forgotten, however, is the sugarcane. It was spread around the shore line, and harvested whenever it was needed.

Oh, and the dog factory, keeping the underground vault... well stocked.

But how do you keep this whole thing powered you ask? Why a double blaze farm... providing all the blaze rods for all that smelting.

As the days progressed, the base would see a movement towards movement, creating habitats Le living and working spaces for villagers, and creating animal farms too... George Orwell anyone?

Perks of Steelgarde

  • Total Isolation
  • Very own End Portal
  • Self sustainable (kinda, not really, maybe one day)

Thoughts for the origin To get away, and work and grind... and what better theme goes with work and grind then industrial.
