East Station is the first station on the Survival 5 SRN East Line on Shepherd. It was designed by 20.png Slomo_1994.

About

The station is loosely inspired by the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway's station at Porthmadog. Elements such as the deepslate retaining walls were inspired by the Cob enbankment which links the town with the hills on the other side of the estruary.

Other than that, the station is a mish-mash of standard railway elements and SRN necessities, which culminates in an uninspiring and boring station. The station has all the usual features of an SRN station, including mainline and branchline terminals, maps, beds, crafting areas (including a furnace setup), and NTN connection.

The station also features a garden, designed by 20.png Slomo_1994 and 20.png LadyDragonWolf.

History

The station design was never originally intended to be the first station on the East Line. Instead, this was meant to be the building we now know as Kirwick. 20.png Slomo_1994 deemed the Kirwick building to be unsuitable for the desert biome which occcupies a lot of the space around East Station. Because of this, the station is rather lacklustre, and doesn't have the pizzaz you expect from a modern SRN station.

It was built in the first few days/weeks of the server, as both the first station and a temporary base for its designer and builder, Slomo_1994. The line itself took a lot longer, however, mainly due to other IRL things that were happening, and the bridge which links spawn with the mainland (this was completed solo). The station gardens were some of the last things to be added.

In the future, a RHN shelter will be constructed, as the Shepherd turnpike runs right outside the station.
