Spawn Port (Akita) is a port on the Akita world of Survival 5 that was built and maintained by the Connected Seas Coalition. It opned for public use on the 28th of August 2022 and marks the first completed CSC project in the networks history.

About

The port serves as the central point for all CSC journeys on Akita. Serving the mushroom island where the main Akita Spawn area is located. The port currently only serves one other location, that being South Station, but aims to provide sea connections to all the other initial cardinal line stations on Akita, as well as services to the Akita Grand Map and Bridge Point. The port was largely designed and built by 20.png Montenator with some interior spaces being done by 20.png N1cM4tth3w63. The Founder and Project Leader of the CSC, 20.png L1GHTN1NG_STR1KE, would oversee the built process, as well as creating the boat mechanisms as well as CSC banners and branding for the port.

The project was instigated by Montenator, with the aim of prompting a burst of CSC activity on Akita. Montenator had previously built and extension to South Station for the eventual arrival of the CSC, and felt having a clear center of operations would make it easier for others to start building ports. Montenator approached L1GHTN1NG_STR1KE offering to build the port, to which L1GHTN1NG_STR1KE accepted, with Montenator building a design in creative later that day.

A few days later, permission was granted by the HeadMods to build the port in the desired area, as it exceeded the 25x25 build limit at Spawn. Over the next week the design would slowly be transferred into Survival by Montenator and L1GHTN1NG_STR1KE. The port would open on the 28th of August, seeing players travel from the port to South Station, the onwards to Fenswick, Lakeworks, Akita International Airport and Emberperch Station.

Facilities

The port is split into three main sections. Players enter the first room through the main entrance, in this room you can find a map of Spawn Island and a departure board overhead showing all the destinations the CSC serves. At the far end of the room, a donation area for the network can be found as well as three lecterns giving information about the CSC, such as how to operate the network and how to help out with the network. A log book can be found at the other end of the room, a place where travelers can record their names and where/when they were travelling.

Descending the stairs to the left of the main entrance, you will reach a pleasantly decorated basement area. This interior was done by N1cM4tth3w63 and features several beds and other facilities such as ender chests and furnaces. At the far end of the room, a small CSC staff only door can be found, which allows access to the hoppers connected to the donations chest on the floor above.

The final part of the Port is the main jetty itself. This is a spacious area, with a roof providing shelter to travelers. There are three different bays where players can launch boats, reducing congestion during large events such as openings. At one side of the dock area, a row of chests with destinations marked on them can be found, Within these chests are lodestone compasses which direct the player to that specific destination. At the other end of the dock, a chest with extra boats can be found. Adjacent to it is another chest where used lodestone compasses can be dropped off, usually from players arriving at Spawn Port from other destinations. These can later be collected and re-distributed by CSC Staff ever month or so depending on demand.
