The Chimera States was a settlement on the Survival 5 world of the Dogcraft Server.

About

The Chimera States were a collection of Cities on the Northern shores of the Shepherd Spawn Sea. In the end it was made up of 5 City-States, 1 Capital City, and 1 Lost City. Each city had different build style, local governance, and lore, but together they formed an amalgamation of one central power that functioned to provide the cities with basic infrastructure and a presence on the larger server.

History

Founding

Chimera started off as a land agreement known as The Lake Birch Treaty, nearby bases and build styles would agree too and map out the land between themselves and agree on borders of where one base started and another ended. Over time this treaty was signed by even more surrounding bases either for the sake of clearer borders or by uniting smaller groups to stand together against larger powers such as Leon and Caelon. Chimera was born out of this evolution adopting a federal government and promising to create transportation and diplomatic networks for all member states.

National Identity

The Chimera

The Chimera was chosen as the national creature and symbol of the country as it is a creature that is an amalgamation of various creatures creating one 'monster.' This creatures motif fitted well for what the nation represents; Independent each state and player is its own creature; Builders, Redstoners, Pvpers, etc; But together we forma creature that can cover its own weaknesses and boost its strengths.

National Flag

The National Flag of Chimera used a lot of symbolism to its core idea of unity. The blue stood for loyalty to ones city-state, to each other, and to Chimera. The Black stood for the power that is gained in being a part of Chimera in standing as a single nation and influence on the server. The Purple represented the order that Chimera would bring to the region by uniting all of the smaller bases and providing a backbone of governance and infrastructure. The flower pattern represented each state coming together as petals and blossoming. The diagonal lines represent different walks of life crossing together at this point of unity, strength, and growth.

Governance

Chimera Senate

Each City-State earned a senator seat in the Chimera Senate. How these seats were filled, was up to the people of the respected city-state, but it was recommended that they were elected into the position. The Senates duties were to represent the city-states and make decisions for the national level.

Chimeran City Designations

Cities that joined Chimera or were apart of the Chimera states are given statuses, each status provides the city a level of protection or rights in the larger nation. These classifications were as following.

City-State

City-States were active cities that had active residences. These cities got full rights in the national government. These rights included a Senate Seat and 100% connections to contemporary infrastructure projects.

Capital/Governance

Capital/Governance is a term given to the cities that were used for Chimeran Federal Usage. These could be cities that act as the straight up as a capital or behave as a base of operations.

Lost City

Lost Cities were no longer active cities. They no longer had residences and this resulted in the area losing their Senator Seat. However, this was not the end for these cities. The area remained in relative Chimeran territory, road systems might have been brought to these locations, and the area might have been preserved. Lost Cities could been brought back to city-state status if someone chose to reclaim the territory.
