Dear reader, I wish I could tell you that I made this all up: but an entire town was lost to a bottle of water.

-Excerpt from a traveler's journal

Reservoir Station was the second station on the Akita East Line on the Survival 5 world of the Dogcraft Server. The station was designed and built by Akita East Line manager, 20.png eybwam. It was unfolded on the 4th of February 2023, during a Mega Opening event, alongside Donkey Station, Temple Station, Two Lakes Station, and Shepherd South Station. Reservoir served the Akita Ring Line.

Design

A drastically different building designed during the waning end of Survival 4 was originally slated by eybwam to be constructed for Akita's second East Station. However, the initial concept proved to be incompatible with the surveyed location and future plans for the Ring Lineโ€”a chain of railways encircling Akita's spawn area, intersecting the four cardinal lines on their second main stations.

Assuming an industrial complex design, Reservoir drew hints of inspiration from a point of interest constructed by 20.png Slomo_1994 on a section of line between Hub Station and Meridian Station on Survival 4 (coordinates: x: 8180, z: -415).

The felled water tower can be discerned behind the signboard.

Reservoir prominently featured an old, brick-laden factory building on a sprawling and overgrown lot, that heralded the building's past. Some of the original pieces of machinery were left intact or otherwise refurbished. A felled and derelict water tower was spotted on the south end of the site. Moreover, two giant steel tanks stood scatheless on the north end.

Inside, the factory building was retrofitted to provide all ancillary features: with crafting tables, ender chests, stonecutters, among others. Network maps were posted onto the sides of crates on pallets. On the floor was a map of the surrounding area. Beds were shelved onto storage racks. Recessed into its eastern wall was a portal for NTN connection. Elytra platforms were set up atop two chimneys towering over the site, and were accessed via bubble elevators on both sides of the portal.

Reservoir's RHN stables can accommodate up to 24 horses.

Forklifts built by 20.png TheWhiteTigerNL were added to what was once the factory's loading baysโ€”now converted into stables for the RHN.

A covered walkway connected the factory building to the CSC port. The port assumed the silhouette of a dry bulk storage bay usually seen at construction sites. A branch of Monty Coffee was requested to serve the stop. Four boat dispensers found on the docks below were utilized to navigate the lake and river. Adjacent the port was a straddle carrier that propped up a watercraft designed by eybwam. The port, however, never saw an official opening.

The Station served two main line connections: one eastbound towards East 3, and westbound to Ember Perch Station. Additionally, the station had provisions for an additional 4 branch or ring line connections.
