If you have both a Java and a Bedrock minecraft account, and want to use both on the server, you will need to link them first, so your inventory and progress carries over. You are required to do this if you want to play with both accounts, otherwise you would be breaking the rule against second accounts, which could result in one, or both of your accounts being banned.

Before starting the Bedrock account linking, your Java account needs to be [[Guide:Account Linking|linked with a Dogcraft.net account]].  While linking, be careful not to be online with both your Java and Bedrock accounts at the same time.

===The steps of the linking are:===
# You need to log on to the server with your Java account, and run the command <code>/linkaccount <gamertag></code>. The gamertag is the one associated with your Bedrock (and Microsoft) accounts.
# You will get a message asking you to run the same command, but with your Java playername and a code, on Bedrock. You should now log out with your Java account, and log in with your Bedrock one.
# Once you are logged in with your Bedrock account, run the command <code>/linkaccount <java playername> <nowiki><code></nowiki></code>. If it was successful, the server will kick you, with the kick message saying “You are now successfully linked with <java playername>”. Progress you previously made on the server with your Bedrock account will be overwritten by progress on your Java account.

DCLinking: You do not need to link both your Bedrock and Java accounts to a Dogcraft.net account to play, linking a single Java or Bedrock account only is sufficient to use the server on that platform.

For general information about playing on Dogcraft from Bedrock, see Playing on Bedrock.

The Dogcraft server supports Bedrock Edition players. You can read more about that here. If you have both a Java and a Bedrock Minecraft account and want to use both on the server, you will need to link them first. Linking both will ensure that your inventory and progress is carried between the accounts. This is a requirement of playing with both accounts - otherwise you will be breaking the rule against second/alt accounts. Breaking this rule could result in one or both of your accounts being banned from the server.

Before starting the Bedrock account linking, your Java account needs to be linked with one on Dogcraft.net. While linking, be careful not to be online with both your Java and Bedrock accounts at the same time.

After doing this, you will not be able to log on to the server with your Java and Bedrock Edition accounts at the same time.

When linking Java and Bedrock Edition accounts, the Java account takes priority and the Bedrock one will be overwritten. This means that if you start playing on the server with a Bedrock account, and later link it to Java, your progress from the Bedrock account will not carry over.

Step 1: Log on with your Java account

You need to log on to the server with your Java Edition account, and run the command /linkaccount <gamertag>. The gamertag is your player name from your Bedrock Edition account.

Step 2: Log out with Java and log in with Bedrock

You will get a message in chat asking you to run the same command on Bedrock, but with an extra code and your Java playername. You need to remember the code for the next step. You should now log out with Java, and log in with your Bedrock account.

Step 3: Finish linking accounts from Bedrock

Once you are logged in with your Bedrock Edition account, run the command /linkaccount <java playername> <code>. If it was successful, the server will kick you with the kick message “You are now successfully linked with <java playername>”. Progress you previously made on the server with your Bedrock account will be overwritten by progress from the Java account.

Unlinking

Bedrock accounts that are linked with a Java account can be unlinked with the command /unlinkaccount.
