Treelar Island was the base of 20.png Montenator on the Survival 2 world of the Dogcraft Server.

About

Treelar Island was a small coastal settlement 1000 blocks north of Spawn in Survival 2. The base was founded on the servers opening day and initially consisted of a small island off the coast of a roofed forest, but eventually extended into the aforementioned forest as the base expanded.

The base featured a very simple block palette, consisting mainly of dark oak materials and cobblestone. The base was split into three main areas. Firstly there was West Treelar, which was the western portion of the coastal mainland and the plains behind the roofed forest. Then there was East Treelar, consisting of the eastern portion of the forest as well as a peninsula and a flower forest to the far east of the base. Finally there was Treelar Island, which was the rough centre and main base of operations for the area.

West Treelar

West Treelar was the older part of the mainland extension and was connected to Treelar Island by a small stone bridge. The area featured a small beach resort on its western coastline as well as a small marketplace along the road connecting the beach to the rest of the base. This area also extended beyond the roofed forest into the plains biome where a farming area was planned, but due to lack of inspiration, only a cactus farm would be constructed in the area. West Treelar also features small treetop houses atop several of the dark oak trees, these houses would be the last things constructed in the base.

East Treelar

East Treelar spanned a large amount of the coast north of Treelar Island featuring various POI's including a campsite, a series of small cabins in the flower forest to the far east, a chapel and a graveyard area. A large mansion also began to be be constructed in this area too which was planned to serve as a new centre of operations for the base and be the standout landmark of the area, but due to lack of motivation the project was never finished.

Treelar Island

Treelar Island was a small island situated just off the coast of the mainland. It was the oldest and most developed area of the base featuring a storage room, brewing and enchanting area, dock, mine, farm and barn amongst other things. In the centre of the island is Treelar Tower which is also the oldest structure in the base, being finished 3 days after the launch of Survival 2.

History

Treelar Island was founded on the launch day of Survival 2. The initial plan was to build up the small island and work from there. Within the first week the central tower of the base was built as well as a mine and a farm building. Progress on the base was fairly slow, of a similar pace to Montenator's Survival 1 base Savannah Homestead. Over the remainder of 2017 the base would expand throughout the coast of the area as well as at the main island. However progress would again slow in 2018 when Montenator became burnt out on Minecraft and so started to build less and less in the area. Around this time plans for the second North line station of the SRN began which was constructed by 20.png darparniox. The plan was to have the track travel underneath Treelar Island and surface beyond the claim of the base in the plains biome. In May 2018, Montenator began constructing a new mansion area on a nearby island in an attempt to revitalise the base, but that project was quickly discontinued and Montenator would leave the Dogcraft server in June of 2018, shortly after construction of Greenfield Station was completed in the plains biome behind the base. Montenator would not properly return to Dogcraft until the launch of Survival 4 in April 2020.

Unlike Savannah Homestead, a large portion of Treelar Island has survived in a world download. Montenator intends to finish the base in creative mode soon in order to properly send the area off.
