Sunflower Station was the third station to be constructed on the Survival Railway Network South Line, and the second station consecutively.
Design
Sunflower Station was comprised of two parts, underground and above-ground. The underground section, where railway lines come in, was made using primarily jungle and spruce wood along with various yellow blocks. The above-ground section, featuring the NTN portal among other things, was made out of various wood types and had a hay bale roof with an oversized sunflower as an 'elytra tower'.
History
After construction of South Station and Mall Station had finished, it became evident that the distance between the two station was too large, and as a result players were sometimes AFK kicked while riding it. Therefore, Sunflower Station was added about halfway and this made it the only station to ever be constructed after another station further down the line was.
The location was chosen for its quite pretty combination of biomes; A tiny sunflower plains in between a swamp, birch forest, roofed forest and extreme hills. This inspired the choice of using yellow blocks and building a large sunflower in front of it. Construction of it took a long while, but was eventually completed on June 4 2018. A path connects the station to Sirocca's base, which was in the neighboring swamp.
