The Mall is a district built by the DCT that provides players with an area dedicated to the selling and purchasing of items. They have been created in every Survival world on the Dogcraft.net server, including Survival 6. The Survival 6 Mall utilizes the Shop plugin to facilitate a marketplace for Minecraft items. The plugin allows for transactions using either Dogcraft Dollars, the server currency, or item bartering. More information on how to set up shops can be found here. History
Like Survival 5, the Survival 6 Mall is on its very own world which is accessible via the command /mall. Over 100 17x17 plots are available for players to rent at the cost of 200 dcd per 5 days. The mall has been built to resemble a giant version of the boardgame Monopoly, with the shop plots split across 8 different coloured districts. The districts are separated by structures similar to those found on a traditional Monopoly board, including a parking garage for free parking and a jail. The spaces which would be occupied by train stations in Monopoly have instead been replaced with builds representing the server transport networks with the NTN, SRN, CSC, and RHN all represented. Several more details around the board include dice, a chest, stacks of chance cards, and a large stack of Rencoins in the middle, all scaled up to match the giant board.
On 1/03/2025 the server was updated to version 1.21.4 of Minecraft, and alongside this the opportunity was taken to change which plugin was used to manage shops in the mall. While the previous plugin had allowed players to assign a price per number of items (eg: 40dcd for 32 copper blocks), the new plugin requires shop owners to set a price per individual item (eg: 1dcd per copper block). This allows players more flexibility when it comes to purchasing as they can choose the amount of items they wish to purchase instead of only being offered a set amount. Due to the change all shops had to be updated to the new system before players could continue to purchase from them. Alongside this, the new mall plugin also came with a new set of commands which resulted in many players sending numbers in the global chat as they purchased items.
Shops
DCT Server Shops
Several shops in the mall have been built by the DCT and provide players with the opportunity to purchase unique items not typically available in vanilla minecraft.
The miniblock shop- This shop sells over 200 unique miniblocks. Floors have been categorised into specific themes to help make it easier for players to find specific blocks within the shop (eg: food/animals/etc).
The armorstand shop- This shop sells armor stands available in a variety of poses allowing players to create scenes with more detail and is responsible for many of the dioramas that can be spotted around the server.
Popup event miniblock shops- Sometimes during a holiday or event time on the server a popup shop will appear with a variety of unique miniblocks themed to the occassion. These miniblocks are only available for a limited amount of time and often include many of the miniblocks used by the creative team in the themed event areas. Events that have been accompanied by a mall popup shop include: Christmas 2024, and Valentines 2025
The community chest- This shop does not offer any unique items but instead offers a location for players to sell things without having to rent an entire plot. Players can sell up to 2 items here and are responsible for maintaining their stock as they would if they rented a plot.
