Template:Key people templateThe Survival 2 Railway Network (SRN) was a network of railways across the Survival 2 world with the mission of providing high quality rail transport service by building four main lines in each cardinal direction and coordinating the connection of 'Secondary Lines' from players to these main lines, while ensuring a scenic journey for travelers.[1]

Survival 2 World

Following the release of Survival 2, the SRN shifted focus from the Survival world to create a new network for the world. Just prior to the release of the world, a Spawn Station was built in creative along with the rest of Spawn. Unlike on Survival 1, however, Spawn would not act as the Hub station, but rather a regular station on the North Line of the network. This was due to a lack of space in the area and it was later decided to build Grand Central Station as the basis for the City of Havana.

On the 20th of October, upon the release of Survival 3 the network on the second survival world was discontinued and focus was immediately moved to the new project of building a network on the new world.

Reach

The SRN (pictured below in blue lines) has expanded to a large number of destinations since it's launch, including Akkara City, the Kingdom of Solace, Quasi's District, Wanigoora as well as many players' personal bases through secondary lines.

Structure

The network expands from Grand Central station in the four cardinal directions, each having multiple stations along the line. This allows the rails to be expanded as required to connect as many destinations as possible.

From the official SRN stations in the cardinal directions, Secondary Lines can then be built by base owners in conjunction with the relevant Line Manager to accommodate for their specific bases' design.[1]

Much like on the previous world, a Nether Transport Network was established a couple of weeks after the first lines of the new network were built. The NTN Hub, which was located on the nether side of Grand Central Station, served as the hub for the system.

Players traveled through the network using boats on tracks of packed ice, which are contained within arched stone brick tunnels. Lining the sides of the tracks was colored carpet, which represented the closest station to the player.

Headquarters

The Survival 2 Railway Network was headquartered in the City of Havana, in a building adjacent to Grand Central Station[2]. The building contains offices for the Line Managers and Conductor, information about the project, and functions as a storage center for the materials used to build the railways.

Secondary Line Offices

In addition to the main build, an adjacent Secondary Line Office building provides space for offices and information about Secondary Lines that connect to the main stations.

Map

SRN / NTN Official Map, as of June 2018

The SRN operates an official map, updated on a monthly basis. The map was based on a background from the Great Survival Map project and was used for reference in the network.

In July 2018, a new 2x2 in-game network map art was produced by William278 and misterblue28, providing players an easy to read map of the network in-game.
