The DogCraft Pet Store (henceforth referred to in short as DCPS) was created at the start of Survival 5 by  Wanderer_06.

How often do you breed pandas by the dozens? How often do you try and collect all 35 types of horses? (That one was rough actually... wouldn't recommend it) Screaming goats? The fastest donkey? The 9-slot llama? DCPS does it all for you.

Returning in Survival 7 under the direction of player  Wanderer_06, the DCPS will be expanding to an official DCPS Zoo! Information regarding the Zoo can/will be found on its own wiki page (here), as it will classify as a "Project" instead of a business (implying that entry is, of course, free, but resulting orders through DCPS are heavily encouraged).

Staffing

In Survival 5, DCPS employed only its founder,  Wanderer_06, but is looking to grow its staff for the Survival 7 expansion plans. Contact Wanderer_06 on Discord with applications.

Qualities for consideration in the hiring process include:

1. A willingness to grind
2. Experience with potions, leads, saddles, boats, portals, minecarts, and as of late--happy ghasts
3. And of course, an appreciation for our server transportation systems

About

Founded on April 14th, 2022, the DogCraft Pet Store didn't officially open its doors until April 24th, 2022 in MOTTO plot Y17. Rather than focusing on profit, DCPS introduces a fun break from building and grinding by incorporating the adventuring, capturing, breeding, and transporting aspects of mobs into regular gameplay. DCPS encourages staff to familiarize themselves with the server's incredible transportation systems (including, but not limited to: The NTN, SRN, CRN, CSC, and RHN). And even better, it can initiate interactions with some of the amazing DogCraft community members! There's nothing quite like delivering an Elder Guardian to somebody's base! (I'm talking about you,  FRAS3R_)

In the Scenes

Survival 5

• DCPS only had one official location in Survival 5, plunked in the lovely MOTTO shopping district on plot Y17 (opened 4/14/2022). The magnificent storefront boasted a large grass block with a bunny inside to greet you, and an elevator up to the inside of a goat where you placed your orders.
• There was a pop-up turtle egg advertising the storefront in rented exhibition slot #1 in MOTTO as of 4/24/2022
• The largest deal of Survival 5 was made on 6/1/2022, promising a park in The City of Leon with at least one swing in exchange for a discounted price of 85% off all mob purchases by Leon Members or Citizens needing mobs for Leon projects. And boy did Leon deliver! To the South of Leon's Grand Central Station sits Wanderer_OhPark!!
• Plans for future storefronts included stalls in cities like Leon and Caelon, and appearances in community events like PinksVille and Holiday build zones, but were not completed.

Survival 7

• The DCPS plans to have a storefront in the server's mall, both advertising the DCPS Zoo and providing a place for order form dropoff.

How do you order?

Well I'm glad you asked! Sadly, currently you cannot, as the DCPS is not operating in the Survival 6 worlds.

In Survival 5, the order process was understandably janky. There was a storefront, but it was irregularly checked for orders, and MOTTO always was a bit of freelancer chaos. Book and Quills were submitted with some rudimentary information, but a more in-depth process may be considered for Survival 7 operations.

Some things to consider are:

1. What mob(s)? (Be specific--don't just say "horse" unless you mean "any horse")
2. How many?
3. Delivered where?
4. Special delivery instructions?
5. Payment?

Is a book and quill the best way to go about it? Probably not. Expect a revamp to both this explanation and the process to come.

Behind the Scenes

Survival 5

Keeping track of all renewable mobs in Minecraft is quite the big ask. Which is why DCPS had four state-of-the-art facilities located across of Survival 5's four worlds. Each facility was identical in shape, but unique in color and location.

• The Shepherd location was built in Rome, the personal city project of  Wanderer_06. The first of its kind, it housed every type of cat, cow, fox, panda, and horse in the game.
• The Akita location was second to be constructed, and was conveniently placed in a Jungle around a temporary panda breeding pen.
• The Corgi and Labrador locations were both built in the same day, the Corgi location on a Mooshroom Island, and the Labrador in a Savannah biome.

Survival 7

The Survival 7 DCPS will be operating out of a zoo. However, to combat the multi-world approach to DogCraft (thankfully now back to only two worlds), the Zoo may "own a warehouse" on one of the worlds instead of a second highly prettified, tourist-y location. There will only be one official Zoo.

The Zoo, like real-life zoos, will have viewing exhibits, but also holding areas and sick bays behind-the-scenes. This is where all of the legal experimentation will occur, as well as mass production for distribution. The owners, having volunteered at a real zoo, are aware that Minecraft does not accurately portray all ethical obligations, so will try to educate visitors about proper ethics while nonetheless practicing digitally inhumane storage of rabits (on an eternally sticky honey patch).
