Articles on the Cyberdog Wiki should be informative, helpful and answer all the questions someone may have about whatever the article topic is. If the article can't answer basic questions, then it isn't useful. When writing an article, refer to this article.
These Wiki Guidelines serve to help accomplish this goal by outlining the best practices to take when editing here as well as explaining the various facets of the project. However, they are not absolute (with exception to vandalism, which is prohibited by Rule #23); rather they are in place to act as a frame of reference or help document to make the most of your contributions. If you'd like additional assistance with editing, please feel free to ask on the Dogcraft Wiki discord.

Summary of Guidelines
* Insert an infobox - Use the 'build' template!
These are the main principles of our Wiki editing guidelines. For detailed information on a specific topic, see the links in the section below.
* Don't forget to fill in your infobox with data, like who built it.
*Create articles that are relevant and interesting to the Dogcraft community.
* Provide at least one high-quality screenshot of your build. Add a caption to your picture.
*Write impartially and without bias, as though you are reporting on the topic.
* When giving co-ordinates, you should put in the co-ordinates of the entrance to your build, not the center of it.
*Third-person is the best perspective for almost all passages of text on the Wiki.
* Be neutral. Don't word your article in a way that makes your build sound incredible.
*An easy to create yet effective article layout is: introduce the topic - give detail about the topic - provide images of the topic.
* Your article should make grammatical sense. Or, at least ask someone else to improve the grammar of your article.
*Templates such as player templates, infoboxes and navboxes can improve the delivery of information, so be sure to use them.
* When using references, refer to forum posts, in-game written books, discord messages, screenshots and quotes from others.
* Link to other articles when appropriate.
* Add your build to the 'builds' category and the appropriate world category (Survival 1/Survival 2/MCMMO/Amplified, etc)

Other guidance and policy concerning Wiki editors:
* What is a project? A project is a wider server initiative that involves multiple players, potentially across multiple worlds/across a larger area. It may not involve a specific build, but a larger number of builds that form the project. It is not a town/city, however, as those involve a number of builds from players in a smaller area.

Articles about towns/cities/bases
Additional Information
* What is a town/city/base? A town or city is a group of builds, usually but not always from a variety of different players in a specific agreed area. Towns/Cities usually have a mayor or set of mayors who are in charge of building and managing the contents of a town. Bases are personal bases that feature a number of builds, but cannot be distinguished as towns or cities. Refer to the following table when distinguishing between towns/cities/bases.

 • Every Wiki user has their own userpage which can be customised and does not need to follow the Wiki writing guidelines.
