Golden Station is the first station on the Retriever South Line, part of the Retriever SRN on Survival 6. The station was designed and built by Retriever South Line Manager 20.png Montenator, with lot's of help copying the build into survival from 20.png Edhellan and 20.png Proud_Looney. It would be amongst the first set of station to open on Survival 6, opening alongside Canal Station and Sheltie East Station on the 9th of February 2024.

About The Station

Golden Station is a medium sized SRN station, designed out of relatively easy to gather resources as it was built in the early game. It sits at the foot of a large mountain range, at the edge of a large basin south of the spawn area. It was chosen as this was the first large piece of flat land south of Spawn, and lots of bases were anticipated to be in the area. The line itself between Grand Central Station and Golden Station is one of the most scenic in the SRN's history, travelling along a giant natural gorge. The lines summit also marks the highest y-level an SRN line has been built to.

The station features a large central tower, flanked by two smaller towers with rectangular platforms connecting each of them. The station features two main line and 2 branch line connections, although this can be increased if needed. The main walls if the station are framed with oak logs, with gradients made from mud, stripped logs, sandstone and bamboo being used to fill the rest. The roofs of the towers are done with cyan terracotta, textured with acacia logs and smooth stone. The platform canopies are made from mangrove and granite slabs, with supporting pillars with pots as their base being used to hold them aloft.

The station's namesake comes from a large golden light at the top of the central tower, made from texturing yellow concrete, honeycomb, glowstone and raw gold. A trademark south line flag sits atop this roof.

The lower floor consists of small amenities nestled in each of the 4 cornice alcoves. A Monty Coffee is found in one, a rest area in another, station utilities in the third and a timetable found in the last. Travelling up the spiral staircase the player finds themself in a small landing roof where maps, the station log book and the NTN Portal are located. 4 side doors take the player out to small balconies to overlook the station and its surrounds. Travelling up the staircase further, a bedroom can be found with several beds to help skip the night. A final ladder takes players to the very top of the tower, which is a good elytra take off point.

The station currently features one complete branch line connection to the base of 20.png HeavyDork, Black Tower. Other branch lines such as one to the base of 20.png Locketeer, the base of 20.png Chriizsich and the base of 20.png Dyonamik, Vernazza Villa, have also been proposed.

RHN Connections

The Retriever Spawn Turnpike, built by 20.png _Shako passes by Golden Station at its southernmost extent. Across this road opposite the station, a small RHN Shelter was built by Montenator to serve the station. Further along the road, Locketeer also built a small travelers Inn near her base.
