Lakeworks was the base of Montenator on the Survival 5 world of the Dogcraft Server. The base was on the world of Akita in the south-east, roughly in between South Station and East Station. The base had very little development.
About
The base was built in a 'savannah modern industrial style', which mainly consisted of acacia wood with many greys and whites mixed in. The base consisted of three main islands off the coast of a peninsula in the south-east of Akita. The first island where development took place was called 'Long Island' (a reference to the island in the state of New York of the same name). The other islands included 'Big Island', where the main bulk of the infrastructure will be found, and finally 'Lush Island', where a large port area was planned. Another peninsula south of the archipelago was used as the site of the SRN Station serving the base.
The base was conceptualized as a response to Montenator wanting to get better at redstone and farming, which he had previously done very little of throughout his previous bases on Dogcraft. Lakeworks plannned to have most buildings serve a function, whether that be to hide a farm or to serve a useful purpose (like a map building). This was in stark contrast to Montenator's previous bases, such as M-Bay, which featured largely empty space on its inside.
History
The area picked out for Lakeworks was first discovered by Montenator in late March of 2022, with Montenator abandoning his previous pick for a base location due to it being sandwiched between two other bases close by, which prevented growing room. The area where Lakeworks was located was about 700 blocks further east of the original location.
Progress was had on 'Long Island' with a central storage room and auto smelter building both being built at the base. A small park area was built out front of the main storage building, featuring a nether portal that eventually linked up to the NTN. A small tiered set of manual crop farms and hedgerows made up the rest of this area. There were plans to link Lakeworks up to all major methods of transport on the Dogcraft Server, with it being part of a loop branch line between South and East Station. This line would start at East Station, head down towards Airport Station before arriving at Lakeworks. The line would then lead from Lakeworks to Aero_M's town Fenswick, before heading towards HatterSkye's base the Mojave Swamp, before terminating at South Station. Plans to link it to the main East Tunnel of the NTN were also in the works, as well as building road and sea connections to the base, courtesy of the Akita Project Group.
