Vista Station is the fourth station on the Akita South Line on Survival 5 of the Dogcraft Server. The station was designed and built by Akita South Line Manager 20.png Montenator and opened to the public on the 1st of October 2022. The station was the first fourth station on a line built in Survival 5 and is the current terminus of the Akita South Line at the time of writing.

About The Station

As the name would suggest, Vista Station boasts impressive views of the surrounding snowy tundra, due to its position atop a large mountain. This mountain would need to be heavily terraformed in order to fit the station build, even after this, extra land had to be built out to fit the station. As a result, a large piece of land jutted out from the mountain unnaturally. To remedy this, Montenator proposed building a cliff face underneath it, and delegated the job through the Open Tasks channel on the SRN Discord. The cliff would end up being a team effort between 20.png starr274 and 20.png GracessNella, with starr274 building the shape of the cliff, while GracessNella worked on landscaping and blending it in better with the surrounding terrain.

The station itself was inspired off of rustic-modern style ski lodges found in the Alpine regions of Europe. The building is built atop a stone foundation, with lots of glass integrated into the design, allowing for natural light to access the interior spaces. The roof has several large overhangs that cover the two large balconies of the station, where players can view the surrounds. On the western end of the station, a stone tower rises above rest of the building, providing a good place for elytra users to take-off from.

The interior space of the station is split into three main rooms, the first room being the main line terminal room. In addition to housing the two South Line connections, this room also has the main entrance of the station, at the bottom of the large bay window. Other facilities in this room include elytra tower access, as well as general utilities and a station logbook. At the very far end of the room is a small Monty Coffee stall, staffed by one of 20.png Wanderer_06's pigs.

Continuing directly forward when entering via the main entrance, you will find a smaller room where the area map can be found, this room has too smaller off-shoots that lead to a sleeping area and a nether portal with NTN access respectively. The final room contains the stations four branch line terminals as well as a large departure board telling players the journey times to all the Akita South Line stations from Vista Station. SRN network maps are also located nearby all minecart terminals.
