"Hello, and welcome to your latest installment from the CDNN news desk!" 20.png OldManLP85

The CyberDog News Network (CDNN) is a YouTube video series uploaded to the Dogcraft YouTube Channel. Founded as an endeavour of the Events Team in January 2017, the CDNN follows a TV news broadcast format and provides coverage of events, projects, and miscellaneous happenings on the Dogcraft Server.

History

The original series run began in January 2017, with the formation of the new Events Team. 20.png Abigai1 and 20.png Dreeadnought led the production of episodes, which would detail upcoming events and recap on past ones. The format was that of a news show, with various hosts and panelists appearing in a studio built on the Creative world. This ran in monthly installments for six months until June 2017, after which no new episodes were produced, due to the extensive production times involved in making new episodes.

The series would be picked up again following the reforming of the team and in February 2020 the first new episode would air, presented by 20.png William278, 20.png OldManLP85 and 20.png RY44. Videos cover a wider range of topics and include player-organised events as well as other updates around the server, such as build team activities. A new studio was also built, this time on the Survival 3 world, underneath the events team HQ. Following the closure of the Survival 3 world, yet another new studio was built in the Survival 4 Camp Husky spawn area.

In October 2022, over a year after the last CDNN video, 20.png Txp_ announced the return of the so popular news broadcasts. Aiming to release a video at the end of each month with the latest news and updates from the Dogcraft.net server, and encouraging players to submit their own news topics. After the New Years 2022 show, a first pilot video was release covering the full show. Soon after one of the skyscrapers in Leon was made available for a new CDNN studio, making it the first studio of Survival 5.

Near the end of June 2023, 20.png Txp_ announced he would be leaving the Dogcraft community, and along with it, the CDNN.

"Hello everyone,

I usually try to keep all my announcements positively oriented, but this time that won’t be possible unfortunately.

Reason being is that I have decided to depart from the Dogcraft community.

And yes, that does also mean that I won’t be working on the CDNN anymore. When I started the revival project, I never thought we’d get so far, and I’m insanely happy with that we have achieved together. But I can no longer make time to produce videos like this. I won’t go into detail as to why this is, but it pretty much comes down to the fact that real life has become increasingly busier for me.

A fair question to ask is what will happen to the CDNN now. And all I can say is that that’s up to you all. I’m happy to give my full support, when possible, to whoever might want to take over from here. In the coming days I will prepare a folder with most of the files I used for the CDNN episodes for everyone to access. Of course, I’ll still be somewhat reachable via Discord, and I’ll stay in some of the Discord servers as well. Just quietly lurking in the background from time to time.

And that’s it, there’s not much more to say other then to thank all of you again, from the bottom of my heart, for all the support and fun times. It’s truly been a great experience."

Txp_

Upon 20.png Txp_ stepping back from his roles on the server that June, 20.png Montenator and 20.png XPModder would take up leadership of the CDNN Team, also becoming official members of the Dogcraft Media Team.

Other Vidoes

Alongside CDNN updates, the Dogcraft Events channel has featured a few other special features too, such as a trailer for the since-delayed Dogcraft Olympics, the final of Saturday Nitro Live, a tutorial on how to use the World Downloader mod to make world downloads when the Survival 3 world was closing and the usage of the mod was allowed as well as various live streams from the server, during live stream days. The channel also hosted a "Thank you, marbou9!" video, known as "Project Bovine". The video was made by 20.png dmgdog in collaboration with the events team and members of the community to thank 20.png marbou9 for his service as a [HeadMod] when he retired.

CDNN Team

Upon the shows revival in 2023, which was spearheaded by 20.png Txp_ a new group of contributors, made out of volunteers from the Dogcraft community would be responsible for developing each installment of the CDNN. This differed to previous runs of the CDNN, which were overseen solely by the server's official Events Team. Through the current run of the show, only Txp, was affiliated with the Staff Team as part of the official Media Team, and the rest of the CDNN Team were other players on the server, which could got involved with the project through the CDNN Discord. Upon 20.png Txp_'s retirement, both 20.png Montenator and 20.png XPModder became Editors-In-Chief.

As Survival 5 drew to a close, Montenator announced his intention to step down as Editor-In-Chief once the final episode of Survival 5 released, siting many other commitments on the server, however would continue to serve as an Editor for the CDNN and continue to host episodes. XPModder would continue to serve as Editor in Chief but, being in a similar position with many other roles on Dogcraft, William278 agreed to temporarily return as Editor In Chief due to no other CDNN Editors stepping forward. With XPModder and William278 at the helm, the CDNN Team would begin it's coverage of Survival 6. During the first episode of the season, a very successful casting call saw 9 new members join the CDNN Team as editors, easing the strain on the existing small group of editors. After several months of episodes being released, William278 decided it was a good time to step back as Editor In Chief, with 20.png Its_Nars taking his place as the new Editor In Chief alongside XPModder.
