Dry River Port is a port of the CSC on Labrador. It is located close the the CRN station North Station and on the shore of a river, wich is directly connected to the great spawn sea of Labrador.

About

The project to build this port was started by {{player|XPModder}} as a contribution to the first installment of the CSC's Connected Seas Competition in the beginning of febuary 2023. At this point XPModder had just done some major work on rail lines and station for the CRN and was looking for a new project to work on. As he had been interested in the CSC for a while and they had just recently announced the competition, he decided to build a port and enter the competition.

The location for the port was chosen, for its ideal connectivity to the other transport networks, as the rail station is very close by and it also has a RHN Shelter and is connected the RHN with a small road, that directly connects to the Labrador Turnpike. Thus the port could easily be connected to the RHN and this would also allow quick and easy access to the rail line from the port.

A color pallet of white, black and brown was chosen for the buildings and the main block pallet consists of quartz, calcite and polished diorite for the walls, stripped spruce logs, spruce trapdoors and stairs for the posts and crossmembers and the roofs were constructed with blackstone and its variations and a trim of dark oak. For interior ceilings, spruce planks were chosen. With this block pallet, two buildings were constructed. A warehouse located directly at the docks and a main building located in the center of the area. Additionally a lighthouse was built, though this does not use the block pallet and is instead the typical red and white horizontal stripes, seen on many lighthouses in the real world.

The buildings are connected with paths, lined with soul lanterns.

A L-shaped dock with 2 piers serves as the main connection to the water, where arriving boats can land at the piers and the slightly raised area of the dock contains boat-dispensers. The dock and piers are made of spruce slabs and dark oak log posts.

Features

Arriving at the port, two piers can be used to land and exit the boats and proceed to the main dock. The warehouse located directly at the dock contains chests to return boats that were taken from boat dispensers in this or other ports. These chests will automatically restock the boat dispensers located at the main dock. Visitors are advised to only put boats in these chests.

Leaving the dock, visitors can follow the path to the main building. Upon entering the building the large 5x5 map on the floor immediately draws the attention. Directly opposite the entrance 2 lodestones can be found, where lodestone compasses, leading to this port, can be made. Next to these, some chests are placed for lodestone compasses leading to this port and those leading to other ports. Here players can return or take compasses to get to their destination. Around the walls of the room multiple different workbenches, like crafting tables, stonecutters, etc. as well as an enderchest, can be found. A staircase leads to the top floor, which contains multiple bunk-beds and another crafting table and ender chest. Back on the ground floor, one can follow a small corridor, with the CSC banners on the wall, to the second entrance of the building. From here players can follow the path to the RHN road and then follow the road for a short section to the rail station and RHN shelter.

Leaving the dock and passing by the entrance to the main building, visitors can further follow the path to the lighthouse, where they can take a bubble-elevator to a observation deck at the top of the lighthouse and then a ladder on to the roof, from where they can then take off, with their elytra. Visitors are advised, that there is no alternative way to get down from the lighthouse. The elevator only goes upwards.
