Jungle Town is a settlement on the Survival 6 world of the Dogcraft Server.

About

As the name would suggest, Jungle Town is built in a basin which is part of a Jungle biome. The town consists of a variety of builds, including several public farms and utilities, a minigame, SRN station and CSC port, and many player houses.

The town is broken up into two districts - the original basin, and the cave district which is situated in a natural open cave below the basin.

Because of public access to resources and lack of designated building guidelines, barrier to entry at Jungle Town was very low and has resulted in the entire basin being filled with builds.

History

The site of Jungle Town was originally ReNDoG's base, settled when the Survival 6 world was opened, but with little progress. Upon rejoining the server on livestream shortly after it's update to Minecraft version 1.21, he decided to use the land to create a town that anyone could join, particularly new players watching his livestream.

Players laying the groundwork for Jungle Town

Players gathered at the jungle and began to deforest and flatten the land as a group. Afterward, roads were laid out by ReNDoG, and players began to build around them at will. Due to an influx of new players and excitement from existing players, Jungle Town expanded quickly with builds. Notably, many public resource builds/farms were allowed to be created which helped new players with the resources necessary to build quickly after joining.

A couple of weeks later, ReNDoG rejoined the server and noted the lack of space remaining already in the basin, and for this reason, planned the Cave District. This district was not as popular, but still has a good few builds completed in it. Activity at the town dwindled quickly, but succeeded in its goal of becoming a welcoming place for new and existing players.

The town bears significant resemblance in narrative to that of the original Stream Town, also founded by ReNDoG during a livestream and becoming one of the busiest places on the server for a short period.
