Rome is the base of [Wanderer_06] on the Survival 5 world of the Dogcraft Server.
About
Rome is a to-scale *near* replica of the city surrounding the Colosseum in Rome, Italy. The base began planning a few months before the start of Survival 5, in hopes of having a solid goal going forward. At the start of Survival 5, [Chriizsich], [Karbloem], and [Wanderer_06] (later joined by [Bigeater_] and [ChargedBluey]) found a village West on Shepherd, and quickly set up starter farms and villager trading within. Being lazy, and with the end not opening yet, [Wanderer_06] decided to start Rome just West of the starter village, slowly incorporating all of the starter farms into more permanent buildings within the city.
History
Construction of Rome began around 3/27/2022, just a week or so after the start of Survival 5.
β The first building in Rome was a large-scale wool farm to supply future streets with light gray wool sidewalks.
β Quickly following was a storage room, with a base made of Raw Iron blocks (a pain to gather)
β The next buildings had no immediate use, but when they were needed, a creative world interior was made and then moved to Survival.
β All the while, [Wanderer_06] was/is digging out mountains and hills to clear land for the Colosseum[1], the centerpiece of Rome and a future center for server minigames.
β 5/2/2022 the outer shell of the HQ[2] for [Wanderer_06]'s DogCraft Pet Store was built in Rome.

The Colosseum
A HUGE part of Rome is the to-scale replica of the great colosseum in Italy. While the stands take up a large majority of the Ovular structure, the center of the Colosseum will be an incredible (and large) pvp arena for all scenarios. Under the stands will be a large array of gear, tools, and possibly enemies to face in the arena, along with a multitude of other minigames for the enjoyment of players.
The Arena
The arena is the center and open bit of the colosseum and has had a few brainstorming sessions along the way, some resulting in pretty interesting attempts.
Some notable ideas so far include:
β A maze underneath a sand-covered arena that has ravagers inside, forcing players to navigate across and fight each other while ravagers hunt them down and spectators can watch from above.
β Mob cages along the sides like "How to train your Dragon" releasing challenges for the players to avoid and outlast each other from.
β A floodable arena for boat/trident battles
β The whole arena is a giant spleef arena, going down to bedrock.
