Grand Central Station (GCS) is the central station for the Survival Railway Network (SRN) in the Survival 2 world. It is located in the City of Havana.

History

The station was the second to be created in Survival 2, after the Spawn Station, which was constructed together with spawn before the launch. It is the only station giving direct access to the 4 cardinal raillines on the server. The station was designed and built by _edo within the first two weeks after launch.

Goals

Grand Central Station has multiple purposes for the travelers who pass through it. Most importantly, it connects the 4 major raillines; North Line, East Line, South Line and West Line. Additionally, the Nether portal located in GCS gives access to the NTN Hub. The Nether Transport Network is accessible from there. The station, like all other SRN stations, has a map of its surrounding area, which in this case is the City of Havana, as well as a map showing its wider surroundings. Horse stables underneath the station provide players with skeleton horses to travel from the station. Players can also place their own horses in the stables for safe keeping while travelling by minecart to another location in the world. The station also has a large tower, accessible by minecart elevator, for those who prefer travelling by elytra.

Trivia

Some very perceptive players may have noticed the fake End Portal in one of the station's corners. This represents the goal of Grand Central Station, to connect the entire server, including all three dimensions. A transport network in the End has thusfar not seemed feasible, however.

The station has a large buffer for minecarts. It holds almost up to 2000 minecarts!
