Christmas 2024 was an event on the Dogcraft Server that took place from the 14^th of December till the 25^th of December 2024 to celebrate the annual Christmas event and was held on Stream Town.

The Event

Event concept

Christmas 2024 was designed with the goal of bringing the community a festive experience during the holiday season by providing multiple activities for players to enjoy. From exchanging gifts to getting stuck in the maze with your friends or decorating a snowman, the event offered a variety of activities to bring the community together.

Event site

The event was situated within a large ice spikes biome and centred around a mountain with a giant snow globe on top, creating a prominent landmark visible from across the site. A swirling path led players up the mountainside, which lined with activities and decorated with Christmas-themed decorations to explore along the way.

The snow globe structure was divided into two main sections. The lower level, where players would enter, featured a decorated Christmas market complete with a stall to meet Santa. Along the outer wall, several festive displays were built to showcase all of the event's builders, each placed in a different Christmas setting. From this lower layer, players could take one of the staircases going up and enter the interior of the globe itself. Inside, a large Christmas tree stood at the centre, surrounded by snowflakes in the air.

Activities

The event featured a range of activities for players to enjoy and get into the Christmas spirit, with some offering prizes for those who completed them. A list of activities can be found below.

Gift Exchange

Following Dogcraft tradition, Christmas gifts could be placed beneath the tree by members of staff, and any player could request to give a gift to anyone they wished. The event saw a large number of presents accumulate below the tree.

Advent Calendar

From the 14^th of December till the 25^th, the event's Advent Calendar revealed a new reward every day, leading up to a grand prize on Christmas Day. The calendar offered twelve themed gifts in total, encouraging players to return as the event went on to collect each one. Each day was represented by it's own structure, ranging from a decorated house to wrapped presents.

Snowman Decorating Competition

Christmas 2024 hosted a Snowman Decorating Competition, inviting players to decorate a pre-built snowman template. The competition ran from the 19^th of December 2024 till the 4^th of January 2025, giving participants two weeks to complete their snowman. Once the decorating period concluded, judges evaluated the entries based on completeness, uniqueness, detail and overall cohesiveness. Winners received DCD and 5 event themed heads, while all participants were given a small prize as a thank-you for taking part.

Ice Boat Track

The event featured an ice boat track which looped around the event site, giving players the perfect view of what the event had in store.

The Very Hard Maze

The maze covered a large area and challenged players to find their way to the center of the room. Hidden throughout the maze were small Easter eggs and mini-stories for players to discover, offering guidance to those who got stuck and rewarding anyone who took the time to explore every corner. On the outer wall above the maze, a selection of event builders could be found. A big thank you goes out to zacattack2097 and Artic_2446 for getting the maze ready in time.

Letters to Santa

Players had the opportunity to meet Santa at the event site and submit their Christmas wist lists. He could be found in his own stall at the back of the Christmas market. Santa's helpers would then decide if a player had been nice or naughty that year and prepare their gifts accordingly. On December 25th, all participants who visited Santa and submitted their list found their presents waiting beneath the Christmas tree located inside the event's large snow globe.
