Snowman Decorating Competition 2024 was an event on the Dogcraft Server that took place from the 19^th of December 2024 till the 4^th of January 2025 and was held at the Christmas 2024 event site on Stream Town.

The Event

Participants were given a snowman template and tasked with decorating it for the server's annual Christmas event. The competition was officially announced through the discord.

Judging

Judging took place on the 12^th January 2025 and was carried about by Kar204, Ze_Tais and Artic_2446.

Judging criteria

Entries were scored according to the following categories:

Completeness (1–3): How fully the snowman was decorated.
Uniqueness (1–5): The originality and creativity of the concept and execution.
Details (1–5): The level of detail put in the build.
Cohesiveness (1–5): How well the design elements worked together as a unified theme.

All participants received an event themed head as a thank-you for taking part.

Rules

The competition followed these guidelines:

You may not alter the shape and size of your snowman model. Increasing the surface area would allow you to put in more detail, which isn't fair towards the other participants.
You are allowed to decorate the area around your snowman, but this won't be taken into judging.
You are not allowed to change out the floor or dig below the ground.
You may not build more than 20 blocks above your snowman.

Trivia

Without coordinating beforehand, both Montenator and viBEEng chose a summer-themed design for their snowmen, which was quite amusing.
At one point, a group of players gathered to watch Montenator decorate his snowman, turning it into a spectator event.
