About

Overview

The Regencies is a player group and collective territory on the Shepherd world of Dogcraft. It consists of nine Regents with bases spread across a million square blocks of land on the Greater Eastern lands of Shepherd.

Regency

First and foremost, a Regency is a state of autonomy. This status grants a Regent categorical control over a territory. Given the proximity of the Regencies, this basic framework was adopted to distinguish their boundaries of influence.

Although the idea of autonomy sounds rather exclusive, the Regencies share an interest in the development of mutual infrastructure (i.e. roads, farms, lore).

In actuality, a Regent acts in place of an absent ruler. In-game, the Regencies have no absolute leader among them as an extrapolation of this idea and for their collaborative objective.

Territories

The Regencies are six base-projects tightly clustered 6,000 to 8,000 blocks east of Shepherd spawn. At their middle lies Leon and the island of Saint Pierre. To the west and southwest are West Point Research and zacattack2097's unnamed town, respectively. Elysian Meadows is on the southern side of the cluster, neighbouring Sunshine City, a Y21-led base project. To the southeast is the Valkaknight Territory. Meanwhile, crossing the huge eastern ocean is Vulcan. The northern area of Leon mainland is reserved for CajunNinja's Castle.

History

Inception

Whilst anticipating a world reset,

strawberrysham and zacattack2097 drew from their harmonious quasi-joint winter bases a scheme to be neighbours again for the world to come. Time after, much consideration led them to recruit winter-baser and fellow lowercaser, eybwam, to form the infamous Chaos Trio, wreaking server-wide shenanigans and winning December 2021's Build Battle. Together, they formulated rudimentary concepts for their ideal, integrated tristate area - strawberrysham's nature park, zacattack2097's rural town, and eybwam's urban city.

This evolved to including a fourth area — a fantasy village after another lowercaser, ashapink, was invited over.

The four of them would later be the founding Regents of Leon.

Considerations for the Regent status of Vulcan mayors Lendog1888 and M_Sky3 began late June 2022. Although being located across a large ocean east of Saint-Pierre, the premise of an eventual eastern bridge connection was an equally large deciding factor. They achieved Regent status early August that year.
