Patreon Server Rules And Guidelines

From Dogcraft Wiki

(Redirected from Patreon Rules)
Patreon: The contents of this page apply to members of the Patreon server only.

The Patreon server is a Minecraft SMP server for Emerald and Diamond level Patreons. When ReNDoG had this server set up, his goal was to give these Patreons a "Hermitcraft-Like" experience to play in. The current server is the fourth iteration of the Diamond Emerald Patreon Server 4.

Server Rules

  • Rules from the public server (found here: Rules) apply to this server as well, unless noted otherwise. If you feel there is a rules conflict, please contact a moderator.
  • Current active moderators on the server are beouwolfe and 20.png Ha_nah_nah44.
  • You must be 18+ to play on this Patreon server.
  • Be kind and considerate.
  • No advertising charity/fundraisers/e-shops without permission of a mod.
  • No destructive griefing of player bases/builds and surrounding areas. Do not remove or destroy blocks without permission (i.e. participation in a “Demise” style game).
  • No "cheaty" client-side mods. i.e. Mods that give you an advantage over others such as a X-Ray mod. Litematica usage is limited to redstone farms and transferring "personal" builds over to the Patreon server - no pure third party builds.
  • No theft.
  • Item duplication is not allowed. TNT duplication is permitted as a temporary entity is created that cannot be kept, stored, traded, etc.
  • Light & label ALL your areas/portals/shops.
  • Redstone farms must have a shut off and overflow protection in place. Please let a mod know of any concerns, issues, or suggestions you may have.
  • Any violation of the rules may result in kicking and/or banning based on the severity and circumstances of the break.
  • Report any accidents to the owners of the build and/or mod. It is also required that you fix or assist in fixing it.
  • No community/server-wide builds without permission of a mod.

Common Courtesy

  • While this is an 18+ server, there are still some limits on things.
    • Sensitive topics (Politics, Religion, Nudity, etc)
      • Any discussions in chat need to remain respectful and, be kept brief, if you wish to continue the discussion with another individual about said topic, private message them on discord or other chatting app of your choice. Do not use the Minecraft chat or server discord for these discussions.
      • Builds promoting, denouncing, or similar about sensitive topics are prohibited, even at your own base.
      • The exception these rules is if ReNDoG himself is involved in the discussion and/or build, either directly or with his approval.
  • Please be respectful of players who stream from the server and follow their rules.
  • Communicate build plans with your neighbors, especially in community areas and shops.
  • When building in the nether, be mindful of how your build interacts and/or interferes with other player's portals and pathways to their portals. It is best to discuss your build plans with them before starting your build.
  • Be considerate of others when mining in the overworld and nether. Netherite explosion mining should be done far away from Nether Spawn and player portals/base/farm areas
  • Please respawn the End Island’s obsidian towers when done mining them by spawning and killing a dragon. If you spawn a dragon, you must kill it.
  • The End Main Island is not mineable, please use the endstone community mine or the outer islands for this.
  • Please label your nether portals, shops, and games.
  • If you are taking over a shop, keep the shop in the same theme/product of the original.
  • If you are away from the server for three consecutive months without notice*:
    • Your base farms may be turned off and excess entities may be removed.
    • Non-base farms (a guardian farm) may be turned off or turned into a community farm.
    • Any untouched claims (i.e. spawners/ocean temples) are revoked.
    • Any community shops/games may be dismantled or taken over by another player.

* Life happens and exceptions to this rule can certainly be made. Please notify us if you need to be away for an extended time and plan to return.

Server Performance Guidelines

  • When AFK, please make every effort to prevent unwanted entities from spawning unnecessarily. This means AFK in the air or making sure the surrounding area (including caves) are properly lit.
  • Farms, trading halls, and major redstone projects should not be placed in or around public/common areas or their portals. The distance from any public/common area is defined as: The chunks containing the public/common area should not be loaded by the same player when they are in their own build area.
  • If a farm is lag heavy, please consider not using it at heavy server traffic times.
  • Consider not having all of your farms in one area and/or space them out enough so that they are not all loaded at once.
  • If a game/community project is going to be significantly large, have a large number of entities, and/or require a significant amount of redstone, consider setting up a wholly unique area for said game/project.

Community Farm Guidelines

  • Must have an on/off switch when possible.
  • If it is an AFK-style farm, the AFK spot must be reachable without elytra, safe from phantoms, and contain a bed. The spot should be 110 blocks above the lowest point of the farm. If you are unsure, use the MiniHUD mod or ask for help from someone who knows how to use it to create a despawn sphere so that an ideal AFK spot can be marked.
  • The AFK location should also be protected from mobs (including phantoms).
  • If the farm requires (or be optimized with) a certain tool/weapon, then the tool/weapon must be provided. Ideally, the tool/weapon would be named in a way that the user will be reminded to return it.
  • Keep possible server lag in mind when constructing the farm. If there is a question about lag, please review the design with the mod.
  • Overflow protection must be included in the storage area.
  • Make sure that loose entities are taken care of quickly and do not sit around for the full five minutes to despawn.
  • Make sure that instructions are simple, easy to find, and easy to read.
  • All returns from the farm are for the current user of the farm. This means that you cannot make nether-based zombified piglin farm and only allow the community access to the XP while keeping the gold for yourself.
  • It must be in a neutral location that is not part of a base or community area. The exception to this is on the rare occasion when we decide to turn a retired player's personal farm into a community one.
  • If the farm requires constant monitoring and/or maintenance, than the design is not a good fit for a public farm.
  • If you have any questions about if a farm would fit these guidelines or questions about the guidelines themselves, please contact a mod.
  • If you want to make a farm, DM a mod on discord with the following information:
    • What kind of farm it is.
    • Where you intend on making it.
    • The basics of the design. If you are building a farm from a tutorial/litematica schematic, please provide the schematic/link to video. The submission will be reviewed and you will be told about the next steps. If there is a question about resources, let a mod know and arrangements can be made.

Server Notes

  • Server Hopping: To move across the three available patreon servers, use the following commands:
    • Survival Server: /server survival
    • Creative Server: /server creative
    • Nitro UHC: /server uhc
  • Creative Server: (Currently down) Entering /server creative will take you to a creative world that is set up with the same overworld seed as the survival world.
    • The Head Database, Armor Statues, Custom Portals, and HUD Display datapacks/plugins are installed on the server.
    • Teleporting is also a feature enabled for all users as well. Just be mindful of the entities being teleported.
  • Nitro UHC: (Currently down) The patreon group has an independent Nitro UHC server that is separate from the ones on the public server. To access the server, type /server uhc See Nitro UHC main page for more information about Nitro UHC.
  • Dogcraft Patreon End City Tracker: A tool designed by 20.png Rialgar to allow for a more efficient way of raiding The End. The data supporting this is based on Chunkbase's data. As such, the data may not be completely accurate to what spawned in the game. For example, a city might be marked as existing but did not spawn. Should a player opt not to use this, it is requested that players keep track of the cities raided and mark them accordingly, after the fact, to allow for a more accurate tool. If there are connection issues, contact 20.png Rialgar on Discord.

Client-Side Mods

The following is a list of mods used by some of the players on the server. This is not an exhaustive list, nor is it a restrictive list. If there is a question about a mod or you wish a mod to be added to the list, please message a moderator on Discord and a discussion can begin.
