Hello, I am Andrew Mirror!
About me
A redstone focused member of the server
On Dogcraft
Season 6
- MLG: Massive Loss of Gear
Original coordinates: Sheltie x2925 z1475
A mini-game built early into the season in the Canine Kingdom. It was a Roguelike mini-game where the player would go up the elevator, collecting random gear that could help survive a fall, they would need to assess whether they have enough gear to drop down the "Tube" or they should go up the elevator for better loot, incidentally increasing the height of the inevitable fall. The elevator would randomly skip floors on the way up, and most items given would be points, so the game was ultimately up to luck. It was still a small marvel of redstone until it was inevitably broken and built over.
- Vitebsk
Coordinates: Retriever x20 z-168
Andrew Mirror's base area north-east of spawn town, it's themed to be a loosely Russian inspired town (as the namesake is an in-real-life Belorussian city), made for villagers to thrive in a friendly environment unlike the normal trading halls typical for Minecraft.
The base features:
The Circus. On the outskirts of the town the wondrous performers have set up a tent where they... farm iron.
The Library/Apartment building โ1. Entering the town you may visit a library where you can find all the books you may want to read, the librarians are hard at work to keep their offers diverse and plentiful. It seems there are some by the road vendors selling junk to people coming through, as all of it is on the central road of the town, incidentally connecting spread apart radial roads from the spawn town. But it looks like the library is just the front, the majority of the building is in fact apartments for the residents of the town full with separate entrances and intercoms. In fact you can go inside and confirm those spaces are livable. There was originally a set up to let the librarians through, but they just get confused, path finding struggles a lot like that.
The Public House. If you need your horse to rest, our pub will give you a place to stay the night along with other accommodations. It is the center of the base, where Andrew Mirror actually lives. One of the later additions to the base, weirdly, most of the time on the server it was just one villager house with a huge pen for all the villagers.
The Bearer of the Golden Apple statue. Standing on a horrifically inefficient creeper farm, this statue provides a view both from the town and from the railway bridge, showing the prowess of local masons and their reverence to the one who saved them from the necro plague.
The Forge. Right near the statue you can observe our hard working smiths making the best tools and armor for the citizens. There is a lever there that is not just for decoration, it opens up a hidden crafting bench and starts off the bellows.
The Church. In the middle of the wheat field you can see the first Andrew's complex build on the server, it's an Orthodox inspired church, which actually hides the villager breeder, which provides automatic baptism to the kids. Sages residing nearby tend the church vigorously and have a little side gig with the bee farm.
The Ark. Our carpenters attempt at seafaring. Magnificent in size ship was built only to be way too big for the shallow depth of the nearby lake, and way too wide to fit into the connected rivers. And so the Ark got overgrown with bamboo.
T E N T H O U S A N D Wheat Field. The original village this town has sprouted from was lazily transformed into the wheat field it is today, with farmers roaming it to this day.
ViberViper's Annoy Hole. When a little hidey hole by the player ViberViper was found on Andrew's base, instead of getting ignored, it was filled with little contraptions that made this little hole a worth location to visit and try out. It has an annoyingly tight entrance, a button that gives you barely enough time to jump out of the hole, that same button also summons a crafting bench... for a few seconds, then it removes it, the button is also on the block that summons the bench, so it breaks every time you use it, and to top it all off, the furnace conveniently spits the smelted items in the middle of the road above.
Unfinished builds: Forestry up north, Masonry near the bridge construction site, playground for kids between the Library and the Forge, Factory up north, more apartment buildings and general improvements.
