The DCPS Zoo is part of the Survival 7 expansion of player 20.png Wanderer_06 's Survival 5 DogCraft Pet Store.

Overview

The DCPS Zoo will hold every mob in the game with very few exceptions (listed below in "Exceptions").

Currently, it is in the planning phase, since it is intended for the Survival 7 world that has not yet been announced. (I'm planning ahead, guys!) The first step of this phase is to create a layout, determining where each mob in the game will go. There are 85 total listed mobs on the Minecraft Wiki, and that does not count all the variants, such as the 35 kinds of horse, 7 kinds of pandas, and screaming variant of goats. Suffice it to say, the step of organizing the mobs is not a small one.

Below is the initial layout for the DCPS Zoo. While it appears to be quite "square"... (hah. you can laugh at that. this is Minecraft, where everything is square) the result will be much farther from it. The rectangular boundaries are simply to suggest placements of less rectangular structures. For example, the pond will certainly be some blobular form instead of an olympic swimming pool. Foliage and meandering paths will also help to break up the assumed monotony of the boxes.

Calling All Potential Contributers:

This Zoo is going to be a GROUP effort! Though I (Wanderer_06) am spearheading the project, I would love to get a bunch of players involved. Some of these exhibits may have your favorite mob, and you've been dying to build an exhibit for them! You could claim an exhibit if you message Wanderer_06 on discord, or join the DCPS Discord (coming soon)!

Sandbox

The warp for the sandbox server is

/warp DCPS_Zoo

Please follow the guide in the lectern. It explains that there is a designing area that is NOT the layout you see in the screenshot above. Don't build on the layout directly, but instead copy the space over to the side. Only when the final design is decided will it be moved to the layout plot.

There is also a space to design greenery! if you want to build a tree or shrub that may be used in the park.

All help welcome!

Exhibits

Though planned to be in generally logical areas, the exhibits may be anything but. I particularly look forward to the chaos the "Bugs" exhibit may bring.

Each exhibit will host some of the minecraft mobs. However, they may not be exactly where you would expect, since this zoo is not divided by Minecraft's "biomes" but rather by the whim of a certain Wanderer. The mobs in each exhibit are listed in the section per a bullet-pointed list.

Entrance

Like any zoo, the DCPS Zoo needs entry turnstiles. And like any desk job, the ticketers may be slightly grumpy... hence the:

  • Pacified Pillagers

Courtyard

The courtyard is the very first landing after the entrance. This is that part of any amusement park that confronts you wonder, and then a couple choices. The obvious one will be to visit the carousel smack-dab in front of the player, but right and left are options too (though left is more encouraged in the design).

  • Sniffers
  • Wandering Traders

Guest Services

Primarily a villager trading hall, the guest services building will features offices for zoo employees (mostly villagers, but also player employees) and the nurse's office for any accidents in the zoo.

  • Villagers
  • Iron Golems

Gift Shop

The gift shop is outlined more below, but will feature the handy item-interactive mobs such as:

  • Allays
  • Copper Golems
  • Dolphins? (maybe)

Pond

It's a pond. It has a lot of pretty foliage, a "no-fishing" sign, and:

  • Cod
  • Salmon
  • Tropical Fish
  • Tadpoles
  • Frogs
  • Dolphins? (maybe)
  • Turtles

Tanks (Aquarium)

The tanks are for the more secluded underwater (or water-adjacent) mobs. HR wouldn't let me put the trident-throwing drowned in the open-air pond... what a bunch of kill-joys.

As a big fan of the glow squids, the fantastic 20.png strawberrysham has volunteered to help design an aquarium for the Zoo as of 12/27/2025. Thanks Sham!

  • Axolotls
  • Glow Squid
  • Squid
  • Tropical Fish
  • Dolphins
  • Drowned
  • Nautilus
  • Zombie Nautilus
  • Pufferfish
  • Guardians

Aviary

Aviary is the fancy word for "building for stuff that flies". Even though with potions and redstone I could make that count for any mob, I will likely just put the actual flying mobs in there.

  • Bats
  • Parrots
  • Phantoms
  • Happy Ghast
  • (Hostile) Ghast? (maybe)
  • Bee
  • Vex

Stables

After the mounts of mayhem drop in 2025, there are plenty of new mobs to collect in a stables exhibit.

Big thanks to 20.png Ze_Tais for volunteering to help design the stables!

  • Camel
  • Camel Husk
  • Donkey
  • Mule
  • Horse
  • Skeleton Horse
  • Zombie Horse
  • Llama
  • Trader Llama
  • Strider

Barn

And of course, we have barn animals that need a cozy display (with a roller coaster directly behind it, of course).

  • Chicken
  • Cow
  • Mooshroom(s)
  • Pig
  • Rabbit(s)
  • Sheep
  • Goat

Bugs

Perhaps the exhibit I am most excited for, the bugs holds both the obvious... and the less obvious ;)

  • Silverfish
  • Spider
  • Cave Spider
  • Endermite
  • Armadillo (it's a big rolly-poly!)
  • Creeper (get it?? it was a bug?? heh.)

Polar/Events

Doubling as an events/Christmas area for the Zoo, the polar exhibit houses those oddball snowy mobs like the:

  • Polar Bear
  • Arctic Fox
  • Snow Golem
  • Stray
  • Shulker (presents under the Christmas tree!)

Baddies

The baddies exhibit is a catch-all for the weird monsters Minecraft has. Quite the multi-storied exhibit it may turn into...

  • Enderman
  • Bogged
  • Breeze
  • evoker
  • Husk
  • Parched
  • Ravager
  • Skeleton
  • Slime
  • Vindicator
  • Warden
  • Witch
  • Zombie
  • Zombie Villagers
The Nether Side

Of course, there are some nether mobs the zombify if brought to the overworld. So one door in the baddies exhibit will lead to a room that just so happens to be on the other side of a portal, so it can hold:

  • Piglin
  • Zombie Piglin
  • Blaze
  • Hoglin
  • Magma Cube
  • Piglin Brute
  • Wither Skeleton
  • Zoglin

Pandas

Perhaps the most controversial categorization choice... I wanted red pandas. So we have them:

  • Fox (in trees, named "red panda")
  • Pandas

Exceptions

Ender Dragon

Need I comment?

Wither

Again, is there really a question here? Though a named boss bar may be considered if there are claim features that block wither griefing...

Elder Guardian

I would like to be able to break blocks without mining fatigue at all times, so if one were ever to be introduced, it would need to be after absolute completion of the zoo.

Tadpoles

The one you probably didn't think about immediately is tadpoles. But we will have them. They just may not be on display at all times, because as you well know they grow up into frogs. There will be plenty of frogs around, but perhaps not many tadpoles, expcept in bucket form in the Gift Shop.

Cats and Dogs

(Includes all variants of both and the ocelot) These will not have individual exhibits, but will rather be scattered around the Zoo.

Creaking

Of course, only present at night, these will technically reside at the pond exhibit... hidden within some of the trees surrounding it. And maybe they won't even be limited to the pond area...

Exhilerations

(I just wanted to use another "ex" word...) All Zoos have those underwhelming rides and attractions besides animals, right? Like the famous carousel, the log plume, and the weirdly themed roller coaster? Well the DCPS Zoo will have all three of those! as well as some smaller arcade-style games in select exhibits!

The Carousel

The most prominent feature of the Zoo, a carousel will be the focal point following your entry. Because of its importance, it will most likely be designed by owner and manager 20.png Wanderer_06 to really command the vibe of the zoo.

The Nautilus Log Plume

A fantastic suggestion by 20.png strawberrysham, the Nautlius Log Plume will be right past the aquarium and pond. Do I have any idea how it will work? Nope, not yet.

The Pig Coaster

Why ride a minecart when you can ride on a pig in a minecart? Such is what I have thought every time I've gone to an SRN Line opening (Example: Ember Perch in Sur5).1

Gift Shop

Run by all your favorite grubby-handed "support" mobs (copper golems, allays, perhaps dolphins...), the DCPS Zoo Gift shop will be your one-stop shop for any mob-catching and mob-item needs!

In Stock:

Shortleaf pine tree 12/27/2025
Mob-Item
  • Buckets of Tadpoles
  • Buckets of Fishes
  • Dried Ghasts
  • Scutes (Turtle and Armadillo)
  • Eggs (Chicken and Turtle)
  • Honey & Honeycomb
  • Goat Horns
  • and more!
Mob-Catching
  • Buckets
  • Leads
  • Saddles
  • Carved Pumpkins
  • Bamboo
  • Amethyst Crystals
  • Sweet Berries
  • Snowballs
  • Fishing Rods
  • and more!

As opposed to operating for peak efficiency, the DCPS Zoo will prioritize immersion. Therefore, items like "amethyst crystals" will not be supplied in bulk, but rather individually, advertised as rare energy sources that allow allays to multiply.
