« on: April 06, 2017, 02:02:20 pm »
Hey guys,

I'm thinking about starting to make some small crappy videos to upload to youtube like redstone tutorials and the such maybe a world tour of my old survival world, stuff like that, if anyone has any confidence tips or anything please psot them here cause I want to do this but I don't want to feel awkward doing it or diseased...

Thanks...

Most people feel awkward first starting out making video's, I mean you're basically having a conversation with yourself. But the beautiful thing about the cyberdog nation is that we're all here for each other. I'm sure some of the youtubers amongst us will have some tips as well. Its okay to be awkward at first, its how you get comfortable. Best of luck to you!

Well I can say to things for sure: I will 100 percent subscribe and I am sure the videos won't be "crapy"-thats a fact : ). I've never had a youtube channel so I can't speak from experience but I know that when I first started talking on discord even then I didn't have confidence because I don't like my voice; I still don't. But I have confidence now because confidence grows over time and I can not wait to see your youtube channel up and running!

Hey 2less,

When I started making videos for YouTube I found it useful to write down in detail what I was going to talk about and make sure I knew what I was going to talk about. Maybe run through it a few times.
Don't expect to do it all in one take. Try cutting the takes down and then piece them together in the edit. That way you can build confidence and re-do any mistakes with a short re-take.

Over time you will build confidence if you are comfortable in what you are talking about.

Now that I've been doing it for a while I just write down a small list of what I want to record and can generally talk quite freely, but mistakes are still made! No-one is perfect, even the big YouTubers make mistakes. I tend to leave the small ones in now.

The biggest struggle is making it as entertaining or novel as possible so people what to actually watch.

Make sure you have fun with it though!
Wish you all the best with it  ;)

Thank you all for the supportive(that a word? XD) comments, I've actually recorded and uploaded my first video today onto my channel which didn't feel TOO bad but then again it was a 3x3 Redstone Cross Door tutorial :P But I'm thinking of starting like a bedwars series with some friends or so, and if you are interested in joining in and collaberating, then feel free to drop me a message on here and discord (Discord: 2lesslives.#2202 it must have the dot in). And again thanks for the comments :) I'm sure and I hope that my confidence will grow, thank you again. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC94Q4MlwU3owtHKxJfucmmA that's my youtube channel.

I've decided that rather than doing a bedwars series I'm going to do a minigame series, so just message me if you're interested.

You should definitely do it. The best advice I can give is to look at other you tubers and find aspects of the videos that you like and don't like. content should always be original. I'm willing to forgive somethings but these are some of my pet peeve's.
1) Bad sound, your audio quality doesn't have to be high-end but you have to he able to hear your commentary.
2) Lack of editing, feel free to cut out the bad or boring parts.
3) repetitive word choice, like a lot of times people will like say the same thing like four or like five times. Like every other word ends up being like the same thing like over in like over.

Just do it indeed.

We can use a lot more players that create new / optimized designs on redstone contraptions

As long as you enjoy making videos, it would be pretty fun. Check out Mumbo's channel; he has a video on tips for Minecraft Youtubers. A technical tip to make sure your videos run smoothly is that you should probably record in 720p30 (1280x720 screen resolution, 30 frames per second) or higher.
