I've been having some issues with my Minecraft launcher since the 1.13 update came out. Every time I try to open Minecraft, the title screen freezes up and the game crashes. This happens both when I open it in 1.13 and in 1.12.2. Anyone else having this problem, and anyone have any suggestions for maybe fixing it?

are you getting any kind of error msg? i recently had to reinstall C++ components for windows to get my launcher to work.

Since the problem showed up after you installed Minecraft 1.13 a simple reinstall could fix it. Empty your %appdata% .minecraft folder and make a backup of your saves and screenshots folder. And uninstall/remove the launcher and reinstall it.

Chances are that this problem reappears the next time you upgrade to 1.13, but it's worth the try.

Update: I've tried reinstalling minecraft, and it's still freezing up and crashing when I try to open the game. I'm trying to get it up on my old pc, but I may be out of luck for a while. If you dont see me on the server, that's why...

Did you update Java? And is your launcher linked to the right java-folder? I had some odd problem with java linking to a folder with an old version while newer updates where stored in another folder without me knowing.

I had very similar issues the other night. I found quasi’s last post worked.  Updating java made it work straight away.

Okay, I updated Java and it seems to be working now! Hope it stays working! Thanks for the help!
