My AFK dream

Hey there fellow Cyberdogs!
As I was falling asleep last night, counting my pending DogCraft projects (instead of counting sheep), a potential epiphany came to me.  Let me first say that I accept that I don’t know the intricacies of the server, what it is and is not capable of and what is or is not decided amongst admins; this is just an idea which came to me (most likely not original) that I wished to share with you all.

I assume that the “no AFK” rule is there to allow the server to run at optimal performance and not to grief other players who may be affected by those who would otherwise be AFK.  I do agree 100% with this rule and support it; but, being AFK at times does have its benefits to players both on an individual basis and for the community at large.

As such, my dream came as a controlled middle-ground where price and availability would force the CyberDog to decide what is and is not worth an AFK session.  Rules would limit availability and price would put a premium on the sessions.  Here is an example group of rules (all of which would apply at the same time):

1.   AFK time must be requested from and approved by admins (and mods).
2.   AFK sessions are limited to 3 CyberDogs at a time; first-come-first-serve
3.   Each player is limited to a maximum of 48 hours of AFK time per month.
4.   Each AFK session is limited to a maximum of 12 hours (minimum of 1 hour).
5.   AFK sessions cost $1000 DCD /hour (price subject to change)
6.   Admins/Mods reserve the right to kick a user if the AFK session is affecting the server due to excessive resource/requirement draining – refunds for time kicked may or may not be provided at the admins’ discretion.
7.   AFK session kick by server restart/internet outage is not insured.

In my vision, it is an end-game solution for those who have DCD to spend, have farms, villages and/or spawners they wish to use (to better their inventories and/or stock stores for all other CyberDogs) and would still provide control/observation for admins so that the server isn’t affected too badly.  Newer players and those who don’t need a LOT of AFK time could buy just an hour or two if needed, while veteran CyberDogs with DCD to spare can push the 48 hour/month limit.

This is just a dream/idea which came to me.  I have no idea if it’s possible, wanted, already considered in the past, or if it even makes sense to anyone other than me.  I look forward to hearing what the admins/mods think, and if this could potentially be a future implementation to add as the community and servers grow.  :)

I think they don't want afk people so that the server isn't flooded with items from these farms.

This, cause it crashes the economy.

Yes, players will get dcd's and claimblock without actually playing and just. They will also influence the mobcap and getting items without any of their effort.

If people really can't play without the benefits of AFK and also the big farms with tons of items, they're Always free to build them in a SSP world or maybe on a small whitelisted server.

Fair and valid points; I was focusing more on the smaller farms and breeders and not considering the impact a massive farm would have.  it was just a thought I had while wondering how to potentially improve the rate of my villager breeder.  :)
