"Fixer Upper" base ' now off market' near SRN line in Sur1

So, I can't really swing trying to keep up with Survival 1 and Survival 2.  Unclaimed my spot in Sur1 at approximately +4870/+71/-93 and it's there for anyone who's looking for a bit of a fixer upper. Nice waterfront property with easy access to SRN, about halfway between Pyaramid station and Swamp station.  Newly "antiqued", yet--yes I actually went back and "broke" a few things to make it look 'good'.  Originally the shed in front was going to be a public mob shelter (hiding from them, not spawning them) for players caught in the area after dark.  Some goodies in the chests and scattered about, a few starving animals in pens.  No intentional booby traps.

Apparently this practice is frowned on.  My bad.  The reasoning is sound so never mind about taking over.  Feel free to take a look at "rustic rundown" style if you're in the area, though.

Just so you're aware, this is generally not allowed. It's still considered griefing and players are not allowed to take over other builds.

Also, this may lead players to someone else's base that they may end up griefing or trying to claim someone else's build and then they could get in a lot of trouble for that. As wonderful as this idea is, I personally would not feel comfortable taking things from another player's build or even taking it over.

Oh.  Uh, should I go and reclaim the blocks then?  I mean, I'm probably going to leave it looking kind of run down, it's got a new kind of charm that I think suits it.  Shall I rescind the offer or something?  Tear the place down and leave a sign about the area below having been mined out?  Not trying to be sarcastic, just want to know what would be a good way to proceed with this.

You don't have to reclaim the build. You can leave it however you like, as it is you build.

The area below doesn't need to have a sign. It's a mine. There are several of them on sur1. If someone finds it, they'll know. ^^

You don't have to tear it down either. Your build is your own, we want everyone to be respectful of builds, which is why we have the rule that you can not take over another player's build without expressed permission.

Leaving your invitation open-ended as it was, it not a good way to go about giving your build away. If you truly want someone else to take over your build, you need to know the person and have a post stating who you are giving that build to.

You would have to take them to the build and make certain they know where the build is.

Thanks for the advice.  For the time being I just went and reclaimed the original dimensions (I'm aware that the end of the pier is outside my claimed blocks, that's how it was before I thought about "selling").  Because I don't want to get someone in trouble for griefing and especially not if it's my fault.  Maybe if I tore out one or two doors so players could snoop around without going hog-wild with /trust permissions they could poke around the general build and leave a sign to the effect of "interested parties contact taqukaq77 for a showing"?—Uh, that's my in-game name, I wasn't really thinking about that when I started on dogcraft.net using one of my other IDs—I can also just tear out the doors and not offer it up to anyone, I know Sur1 isn't super active these days but it _is_ a nice view and area, after all.
