So i've been toying around with the idea of a Villager Mart, basically it would be a communal area where people could donate villagers that they don't need, or want anymore instead of either killing them. (or taking a chance on a spawn egg, or anything else.) This would be a valuable asset to new players, but there is one conceivable problem with this idea. Potentially it might crash the server's villager market, it would decrease demand in some areas, so I could see this becoming a problem. I'd like the mod's and player's input on this idea before I start fleshing it out a little more.
thanks!

So I like the idea of a communal villager market, but your reasoning against using villager eggs counterproductive. How else will people donate their unwanted villagers?

Mixed feelings- on one hand I think it’s a handy dandy thing since on Sur1 people were prone to claiming villages and emptying them out, creating a serious shortage. On the other hand I find players incredibly generous and willing to negotiate fair prices for unwanted villagers. I think this could work if it could be combined with a fair pay system for the players that donated the villagers, making it a one stop shop. After all, actually /transporting/ the villagers to their new home would be a trip.

Maybe combine it with volunteer community work getting the SRN expanded for better transportation? Obviously this would require mod approval and supervision, but I’m throwing the idea out here.
