Questions about AFK farms.

So you're not allowed to use afk fish farms, which is very reasonable I'd say (those things are ridiculous).

What about other farms?
I suppose they fall into 2 categories:

1) Fully automatic farms. Would I be allowed to let my guy afk next to a (bunch of) fully automatic farm(s)? I know this will probably trigger the afk kicking mechanism (how long before that happens?) but would I be allowed to purposely afk until this kicks (hehe) in?

2) Farms where you have to hold a button while afking. For example, an afk concrete converter or an afk tree farm. I don't know how clever the afk kicker is, so this might potentially break that mechanism. In that case, I doubt we're allowed to use these farms for any extended period of time.

Thanks in advance for any explanations/clarifications.

Just want to know how far I can go with my automation :D

Afk'ing in general isn't allowed. That's why you get kicked after 7min of inactivity. Trying to bypass that will get you in trouble.

Mods, plz confirm.

That's generally right. By all means have a fully automated farm that produces stuff while you play nearby, but please, if you're going to be on the server, be playing some Minecraft.

Fully automated farms shouldn't be built anywhere near Spawn, and certainly not in the Mall. This is to ensure that they are unloaded when the player that uses them logs out.

Being honest, if I wanted to AFK next to a farm I'd only do it for +-3 minutes while quickly checking this forum, then getting back. I've only been AFK kicked once, and that was because I somehow forgot to close Minecraft.

If you're afk, you will be kicked at the 7 minute mark.  You are allowed to sit there as long as you're not cheating the afk kicker, but as Brianetta said, please try to at least play the game or log out :)

As for the AFK Fish Farms, you're just not allowed to AFK at them.  You can make yourself a fish farm (no dispenser), but if a mod starts talking to you and you don't respond, you'll end up with a warning maybe two.
