I wanted to run something past everyone here. If you like it, then keep on using this thread, if not, don't
I have noticed that there is not really a way to effectively advertise your business in the mall, or services you feel that you can provide, or if you have been gone a week and your shop has been emptied but you want to let everyone know it's been restocked (this just happened to me last week). So, if the Mods approve, and if the Cyberdogs like it, Post on this thread if you have something special that you would like to bring to people's attention. I feel that this should be a concept used freely, but responsibly and I'm even all for graphics to illustrate your post a little, again, dont go overboard. Spam will not be tolerated. I also think that it can be a great place for someone to post a "searching for" comment, and allow all the shop owners to see it all in once place. Lets keep it nice, simple, and professional.

Although I don't have anything to do with the server, I will suggest this one, small thing, the forum head moderators, take either this post, or, create a new post, about the same topic, and place it under the "Shop" section, I feel like that would be more suited to this subject than the general chat, that is just my view on it, I also think that it would be so much easier for people to be directed rather than having to sift through the general chat lounge section.. thingy... to find this topic. That's all I have to say.

I must agree with Firsty Blocker the forums isn't the first place probably not even second or third place to come and search shops.
I wish that we would have a /trade command and I don't mean like mollus will trade with skelebutt for 5dcd to get turned to a human porkupine (bad example, but hey I tried), but more like you type in the command and it pops up the advertisements in your chat letting you know who has what shops where, that way we could advertise without spamming the chat.

I have to disagree. You want to bring people here, make this an official thing and announce it! In my opinion, people would flock here looking for what they wanted, or posting what they wanted, plus getting dcd to do so?! Win-win! Plus it's one less thing to lag down the server! Give poor Matti a break and let us, the players, have to do the work on this one!

I agree with this. The thread just needs a little more attention brought to it and it will be away.

We don't need more plugins. There is another active thread at the moment complaining that they are losing items because of crashes caused by them. Sometimes you just need to work with what you have and be grateful for it instead of asking for more.

Thank you all for the feedback! So, TerTerFooFoo, what do we need to do to get this (or something like it) made into an official thread, possibly  pinned at the top of the forum somewhere or a like to something like this under the "shop" tab? Does anyone have any suggestions of how to procede? I would like to work out some kind of actual plan before we officially present it to Dogcraft.net moderators/admin to implement. I have no idea how to create polls, but maybe that would be a good way to get people's opinions of where they would like to go (on the website, NOT the game) to find something they want to buy. The old website had a shop section, but it was messy and didnt work well. There were way too many shops. I dont know how to make the system automated without a complicated plug-in and I think that's what we are trying to avoid, even though that concept is completely awesome...

I personally think there should be a tab under SHOP where we can advertise.
If that's not possible, then there needs to be a whole tab specifically for shop ads, because, in my opinion, if we just leave them in general or game chat, they will just get lost in the shuffle. That's just my two cents on the matter. I really hope we can make this happen! =)

Is it like someone can pay to have an advertisement to show to other people for there shop, and you will see those ads when someone would do /advertise or /ads?

This would be an amazing thing to have.  I know I spent almost half an hour rooting around in the survival mall trying to find one particular block.  The problem would be with competition.  Multiple shops selling the same items would see other people's prices easily, and be able to adjust their prices to undercut the other person.  For long time members, this wouldn't be so bad, but for a new player on the server (like myself), the market would be suicide to get into at the start.

Well what you are talking about is pretty much what I'm gonna try and do with selling certain items, but cheap enough for others to be interested, but still actually make the bill to be worth it. Which is one of the reasons why I don't have a store yet.

My other reason is because I don't know if I'll be able to keep up with the payment of rent at the mall. Which leads to my own question:

Are we able to have a more worldwide trade thing going on with shops not being in the mall all the time, but as well with our own spawn (if possible) or even another area for people to sell things? Since not all businesses are so successful at the mall and are closed down (right?) that it would be cheaper to have it in different locations.

I don't know where this goes, except for there to be a larger network throughout our world for market other than one centralized place.

Give some more acknowledgement if something like this if you have any.
