Hello from SA
« on: October 17, 2019, 07:39:27 pm »
Let me start introducing myself by saying that I have (also) used the same username for registration as my Minecraft account registration:  Sunstone_Leo.  Pleased to meet you all.

I am from Johannesburg, South Africa and I have been playing Minecraft for about 7 years.  I do not pride myself as an expert in Minecraft, building or redstone engineering at all.  I learn and improve as I go by winging it. I do love the concepts of redstone and I enjoy being creative in building.  I have recently purchased redstone books, in an attempt to get better at it.  So far, it has been a journey.

I have just had a quick login to the server and it looks amazing.  I can't wait to get started.  I am absolutely amazed by the size and content the server provides and extremely grateful to all who has helped me in Discord.

I am looking forward to meeting more of you in the community and playing alongside each and every one of you.

Welcome to the server sustone_leo. It’s great to see you here. It truly is a remarkable server, filled with equally stunning builds.

As far as redefine goes, My best advice is to keep practicing, watch YouTube, and build lots. You will fail, I know, I’ve been there. But you learn from failure. A failed attempt is just one less attempt before you get the finished product 😁

The books can be great too, but nothing beats getting your hands dirt in red dust.

Anyway, have fun on the server. And remember, if you need a hand, just ask in game. There is usually lots of very intelligible people there.

Cheers,
Oldman

Hello,

Thank you for the warm welcome.

I have been watching loads of youtube videos and have also replicated some of the redstoners’ builds into my own worlds. Both as a build-along method and as a way of trying to see what i can remember.  I got the books to gain more knowledge and understanding of what the individual components do. However, I agree.... getting your hands dirty is the way to go and I also believe that you learn more from trial and error.

Thank you, I have been doing some exploring last night and saw quite a few lots I like but I will explore just a little more before I settle.

See you on the server soon,

Chris

Welcome Chris!
Hope you enjoy your time at Dogcraft.
By the way, there are many leagues in Dogcraft which you can participate, such as, the Dogcraft Ice Boat League (DIBL), the Dogcraft Equestrian League (I believe it is called so) and the Dogcraft Spleef League.

Thank you for the warm welcome I have received.  Not just me, but my friend, ChrisNortje, as well.  It is a great server and an even better community.  We still want to go and explore by foot, but I am not done with our base's construction yet  :P

Will be logging back in soon :)
