How to Spend your hard earned DogCraft Dollars
« on: May 11, 2018, 01:10:35 am »
Hello all, I am seeking advice on how to spend Dogcraft dollars. I have been on the server for 6 months now and still consider myself new. I have completed several quests and am getting closer to the 150k mark. I know there are some big ticket items in the shop that would be handy. The main thing at this point I am considering buying is the unlimited homes. However, i really want to claim more land too.

Here is a summary of what I have spent my dollars on so far...

  • Claim Blocks
  • Homes (5)
  • Dirt Shop, Then Iron Shop

What do you all recommend for early game spending? What have you all found helpful or most beneficial to buy first? Should I just go ahead and buy more claim blocks and make a mark for myself or save up for the diamond home?

Thanks, any advice would be helpful.

Personally, I'm saving up for the diamond home. It's getting so close I can almost taste it. I have bought a few other things though like the 5 homes and the 10 shops, but that diamond home is my current goal. As for claim blocks, I bought a few early on, but have found that I earn enough through regular play to cover what I need to.

Post diamond home, I've got my sights on more shops. Offer more, sell more, buy more.

I'm saving for the diamond home. Just 461139 dcd to go...

Edit: it's less now.

I'd say the Diamond Home is the most worthwhile purchase in the shop, by far. However, it's quite pricey, and the road to get the 150.000 dcd isn't easy. I'd recommend buying the Gold Home (5 sethomes) as a sort of stepping stone towards the end goal.
Beyond that, I'd say going for one of the Shop deals is a good idea, either Iron or Gold, depending on how large you plan on making your shop. In my experience, Diamond Shop is not quite necessary for the majority of players.
I'd also recommend getting yourself the end warp card (but not the Lesser variant), but I'd craft this instead of buying it for a large amount of dcd (see also Minecraft > Vanilla > Custom Items).
Other options in the shop like claimblocks or spawn eggs are good to have at times, but entirely depending on your needs. You acquire claimblocks through playing as well (100/hour), and I personally never had to buy more.
Aesthetic options such as Gadgets, Trails, Particles and NPC's are the purchases you could make 'just to have them', after getting the things you've been truly after.

The Diamond Home costs 150k dcd. With your current balance of just under 40k, you'd "only" need 110k dcd, not 461k :)

NPC's are just aesthetics. You can buy NPC's of the (ex-)headmods/admins of the server, and the Hermits. They can be placed in a certain spot, and set to track the players with their eyes, or stand fully still as a statue. They don't actually do anything, they just look nice, and show that you really appreciate or like that specific Hermit/headmod/admin.

The two things I found most helpful were the diamond house and a beakon. It took a long time and a lot of work to get enough diamonds but I bought two elytras and used one to craft the endfarm card. Once I had the beakon though mineing became very easy.

The Diamond Homes was definitely the best purchase i made on the website. I got the other two levels of homes earlier, the first when i needed a second home for my first big expedition in the end, the second later when i also needed a few more spots to tp to in the overworld. I got the dcd mostly through quests (the large mining-quests in the last panel give good amounts of dcd, and i got most of those through normal gameplay with only minimal extra grind).

I'm considering getting the diamond shop. i don't think i'll ever need that many shops, my current store in the mall is tiny, but i've got a little project in mind which, if i go for it, might require more than the hundred.

Besides that i've bought dozens of books, a beacon (very worthwhile investment, does need 2 stacks and 36 iron blocks for full effectiveness), and quite a lot of gunpowder.

I've not bought any claim blocks. If i don't have enough to cover the area i want to build on i'll build first, claim later. The first server rule is no griefing, and the version of the rules on the website is explicit that this includes non-claimed builds or even a lonely chest somewhere in the wild.

Don't buy a warpcard from the shop. It is much cheaper to buy the diamonds to buy the elytra and then craft it yourself. That is if you're buying the elytra, and not getting it yourself.

Diss is rightfully proud she went to the End and bridges across many a void space to get her wings. I mined a lot and bought a few diamonds to get my using pair and one for the warp card recipe.

Diamond homes is the single best purchase I believe you can make, but if you’re savvy at shops you can invest a bit to use as seed money to get to the 150k faster. I’m not particularly good at shops, but the quest rewards helped a lot. Also I bought a lot of mending books. Keeping a tool ends up saving you a lot of time and resources as far as I’m concerned.

Now I’m set on the “big buys” and will either work toward I higher level shop tier or particle effect.

Yeah, I would of had my diamond home a long time ago if I'd just stayed away from the mall...
