Yeah, I really like the idea of having recurring events on the server. Events that don't need a huge amount of preparing. Of course there's the events committee but so far they've organised only huge one-time events that need a lot* of preparation (e.g. building large areas for a one time event).
I've been thinking about doing camping trips around the server every now and then. Leaving everything behind with perhaps only a little food and traveling while living of the land with a small group of players.
Another recent idea is organising a boat race around Havana.
A pool/beach party in AtollaBell's large bathhouse and Taeolas' Beach Resort in Havana.
On sur1 William organised a bunch of elytra races.
You have your house design contest.
Joschija has a couple of nice games in his town Nepolis (golf course, horse racing track, more?)
Perhaps it'd be nice if we had a
dogcraft.net google calendar or something where players can submit low-entry, low-preparation, (recurring) events?
Update:Here's a quick
test for a google calendar:
https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?src=qppmqmpl9n1bk2ml0mlhrm3cqo%40group.calendar.google.com&ctz=Europe%2FAmsterdamEveryone should be able to view that ^^. As a test I've added Gawin's event. For now only I can edit it, but multiple people could if I invite/allow them. For invited people to edit it they'll need a google account, I guess. This calendar could also be embedded in a website.
Note:
this is only a test!Perhaps the events committee could run/manage such an calendar? Perhaps such an agenda could be on the dogcraft.net website? Perhaps there are better, non-google, calendars to use? Other ideas/suggestions/objections?
