Player Report section.
« on: April 29, 2017, 03:05:36 pm »
This is a suggestion, if you think this is a poor idea, or maybe a great idea, please leave an opinion, however, I wish for no-one to post anything vile or displeasurable.

Now, to the main point of this thread.
I request that the Dogcraft Staff create a section of the forums or a thread where players can report other players with evidence of cheating, cursing, so on, in general, breaking rules. Of course, players will have to have plenty of evidence of this before a report would be allowed to be sent, and cropped photos would be disallowed (as they could be forged). This tread would want a clear link to the rules as many players probably don't remember every single rule there is.
I got this idea from a very large server I play on and figured it would help the staff out greatly on this server as many staff don't see everything that happens on the server, and, there is a lot of time where there aren't any staff online on the server.

Just a friendly suggestion.

This  sort of redundant, as players can just pm Mods to report others.
We encourage players to do so through pm, so as not to cause any arguments or shame whoever was reported.

What about all those times though when the mods are too busy to do it and it's urgent and a player can't get hold of another? In that case, it would be needed.

We have an in-game feature which allows you to submit a ticket to report an issue regarding another player's actions.  It is recommended that the following occur:

1) Ask if any mods are available
2) Take the message to private if a mod is available
3) If a mod does not respond, send in a ticket via /report

There's also, kinda snuck into the "Bug Reports" section under help, a selection there to report a player.

No, putting it up here, in the forum, is like public shaming. If it was cursing in chat, enough people would have seen it, screen shot it and sent it to mods (if a mod didn't already see it themselves) and it would be taken care if. If it is a case of griefing, that is between the the people involved and the mods until it is resolved. So putting it up here is like a calling them guilty before all they have had their case fully gone over. Of course, this is just my opinion.

As said above, there's plenty of ways to report someone breaking the rules. If mods are busy or not online and the issue is urgent, it is not very likely a report on this thread would even be a solution as mods aren't on the site 24/7. Furthermore, the in-game punishment the players would receive is enough, we don't need players to be publicly shamed. Locking this thread.
