Mumbo made a crazy video the other day to make the most Efficient furnace/cooker. Most of us don't usually have the resources, time, or space on the server to make it. So I made a simplified one as a response to his video. I made mine more compact, and again less resources. 20 furnaces in total but subtract 2 because their is a glitch where 1 won't work in the row for  some reason.

Resource Count:

-20 Furnace
-5 Chest
-256 Scaffold Block (rather have more blocks in case)
-40 Redstone
-4 Repeater
-4 Comparator
-4 Redstone Torch
-89 Hopper

That's it! Be careful, I might have missed a block count or two but that is all the resources required! Results:
-60 Cobblestone smelted by Coal; 47seconds

Yeah, I usaually use the beginining one with 6 hoopers, 4 chest and 2 furnaces, then I step it up a bit later on in the game and do more advance ones. :)

That style of smelter doesn't work well on a Spigot server like ours. Spigot's hopper timings are not the same as vanilla. Vanilla Minecraft moves one item between hoppers each tick, meaning that you can synchronise them all with Redstone. For performance reasons, Spigot tends to move the items a few at a time, and less frequently. It's all at the same general rate, but it's not synchronised to the redstone ticks in the same way.

The end result being if you build that type of furnace array on our server, then each time the system pulses, some of your furnaces will get more than one item while others go empty.

I did the same thing!  I only used 8 furnaces (7 working ones) because I am fairly new on the server and with that I can still smelt stuff really fast.

Test it on Spigot too, and you'll see the same effect. It's much more pronounced on Spigot.

It's possible to reconfigure Spigot to act like vanilla Minecraft, but hoppers are a source of lag, and breaking the behaviour of things like these furnace arrays is a small price to pay for better performance.

If you look up Mumbo Jumbo's videos, there are a few videos he has created about making a super smetler, which is what this original post is based on.

I think that members of the server that have been playing for a while could do Mumbos but obviously this is a good design for players starting out and players that aren't too good at redstone. Props to you!
