==About==
Savannah Homestead was the first base built by Montenator on the Dogcraft server and was founded on the same day Montenator joined Dogcraft, December 27th 2016. The base was set up in a savannah approximately 1000 blocks north-west of [[Spawn (Survival 1)|Spawn Town]]. However despite the Survival 1 server being up for nearly a year, the area was fairly untouched due to the lack of transport networks and easy routes out from spawn at that point.

The base features a very simple block pallet, using contrasting colours of orange with acacia planks, and grey from the acacia logs and cobblestone. Despite being worked on for 10 months, progress was relatively slow on the base and by the time Survival 2 launched, Savannah Homestead was still fairly modest in size.

The central building was Montenator's house, and included a small storage room, which was later replaced with a shulker box storage system in a building nearby. Other notable points of interest included a large animal barn, a three level sugarcane farm, several colourful wig-wams housing an enchanting set-up and a gateway to the base constructed the day before Survival 2 was launched.

==History==
The base was set up nearby the house of {{Player|Siadina}} and a path was built connecting both bases together as well as other small settlements in the area. {{Player|renthedog}} payed a surprise trip to Savannah Homestead during an impromptu visit to the server in May 2017 alongside now retired admin {{Player|Brianetta}} . The base would also be the setting of shenanigans courtesy of admin {{Player|Ironboundred}} who cloned Montenator twice and proceeded to teleport everyone on the server to the base to watch the clones fight.

Overall the base saw very slow but steady progress throughout the 10 months it was active, but eventually its growth got stunted when it was sandwiched between several different claims. When [[Survival 2]] opened alongside the original survival world, Montenator like many other players, decided to abandon their base in the original survival world in order to move and start fresh in Survival 2. The base was revisited a few times throughout the remainder of 2017 and 2018 but wouldn't see any more significant developments to it. Once [[Survival 3]] was launched, both Sur 1 and Sur 2 were discontinued. With no known world download of Savannah Homestead existing, the base was lost forever.
