			===Early History===

			The genesis of the city was the building of the CSC Spawn Port and it's short waterfall canal to the nearby lake, which was opened on the 30<sup>th</sup> of December 2023. The location of the Port was chosen while balancing requirements of being relatively close to the spawnpoint and also a body of water. In conjunction with this, the RHN's {{player\|_Shako}} built the first beltway, Retriever Boulevard.

			Following this through January and February, RHN's Spawn Shelter and SRN's Grand Central Station were planned to fit nearby. City streets were expanded to encourage growth, which created the central block, and builds began to pop up around this. Prominent buildings, the CDNN building and Retriever Stage were also created during this period.

			On the 2<sup>nd</sup> of March, the RHN hosted the Race Across Spawn, in which aimed to travel around Spawn, collecting words at each checkpoint and then solving a word puzzle in the quickest time.

			In June, {{player\|TigerNL}} and {{player\|Montenator}} hosted the return of the Battle of the Spawns event for both Survival 6 spawns, to encourage more activity, which had stagnated. The competition received 12 entries and has generally deemed a success, giving the city much more depth with more urban buildings to complement the existing builds. The results were as follows for Retriever, with prizegiving hosted at Retriever Stage.

			Activity in the city slowed after the build competition. The next notable spurt of activity was in the southeast corner of the city, where a handful of residential building were made in early 2025.
