The concept of too much is very vague. Like it all depends on the situation at hand, what it is you think you have "too much of", the value of the item, and so forth. . .

However in my opinion that is more for the quantity in actual reality. For Minecraft, you can pretty much have infinite of something, which sets the bar for having "too much" too a really high number.

For instance I have practically mined in the game for most of the time I've played on Dogcraft, where I have mined over 200,000 blocks of just stone, where I have collected a lot of it, but most have been despawned. But I think that is not a lot. Since stone is what consists about a good 65%-ish of a Minecraft world's Overworld. And most of the rest being the air.

Sooooooo. . .. no that is not too much nether quartz ore. That is not enough to think of as too much.

but what about an item that appears extreamly rarely? so to say an elytra takes up about 1 of every 400,000,000 blocks and I have 25 of them? is that to much if I have no use and they don't sell?

Perhaps. It certainly makes it harder for other players to find them.

Ok case in point there are some rare items in Minecraft, for instance, the Elytra. But for a world to be much larger than 400,000,000 blocks, it would mean it is not too much. Plus, your probability of an Ender ship rendering in is not that probabilty. It is bigger than that when loading up any world, unless one were to alter the game games code, or in other cases, mods or plugins.

well my math was 1 end city every 1000 blocks and then 1/2 of those have a ship and the world being 255 blocks tall. (redoing math now) 510,000,000 blocks!

I believe Quartz Ore is equally common as Iron Ore, or up to 80 ore per chunk. Quite easy to obtain generally, but Ghasts really hamper it from time to time.

Btw, the tower in the pic is 8 X 8 blocks and 60 blocks tall, that's 3,840 Nether Quartz Ore. Went through 1 and a half silk touch diamond picks harvest it. Got it all in one trip, took something like 12 hours over the course of 4 days.

And how much Quartz did it break into? I'm assuming you then used a fortune pickaxe to break it up?

last I checked the tower still stands

Wait I just got an idea for 1.13 - 1.14 - 1.15

a camera block on a server so I could set my computer background to the camera block and see what is happening at my base while I am not online in real time =P
