A Wither in my Zoo
« on: December 06, 2017, 11:23:32 pm »
The server has a nice plugin which prefend that mobs like Withers and Creepers can destroy blocks (unless you give them permission in your own claim to do so)
A thing that is normally impossible, holding a Wither as pet into a cage of glass is now an option. In november I made a descision to tear down my main building (actually, basement : storage and smelting room + plus little zoo) I dug out a big hole with the bottom at y46 to start over fresh. Well, i caught a nitwit baby zombie just for fun, which started my little collection of some special mobs.

Inventory:
Witch
Enderman + Endermite
Zombie Villager with armor
Zombie nitwit baby
3 Silverfish
Spider
Creeper
Magmacube

And intergrated as roof for my storage room, an aquarium with 16 guardians (brought over 2000 blocks)!
At 2nd floor of the underground:
3 polar bears + 2 wolves, The large aquarium with 16 guardians and my favourite: The Wither with his buddy the Nitwit

Like to see? Ask me and come visit my personal zoo of freaks.

For anyone who hasn't been, I seriously recommend taking a tour of the place with Quasi. It's fun and has some great work.  My personal favorite is the polar bear exhibit, but it's all cool.

Quasi, I headed over to your plot yesterday and I kept hearing explosions, and then I saw that there was a Wither health bar, so I decided to head back to Spawn because I didn't want to interrupt your battle. Now I'm intrigued and I'd love a tour of your zoo. Do you do private tours?

I was doing some exploring the other day and found your place. It was amazing. I kept hearing the wither sounds and seeing the health bar and it freaked me out at first. I'm glad that thing is contained. My sad iron armor wouldn't stand a chance if it got loose... lol

I knew creaper explosions were disabled, glad to learn wither ones are as well.

You can safely go downstairs through the main house (which is still under construction) and see the Wither in his cage. Or ask me for a tour! You're always welcome to visit.

Credit for the Wither also goes to Gawin, my first Wither managed to escape through a 1 block hole in the ceiling while trying to give him a nametag... lesson learned, luckly Gawin was there to help me out. Even with OP gear it's tough having such a monster on the loos. That's why this one is called 'Gawin's Minion'. He likes to terrorise Nitwits and als scare of the guardians nearby!

definitely worth a look if just for the sheer amazing-ness of the design around the base. the way he incorporated stone and leaves while still giving it some brightness for being underwater

If people are planning to keep creepers and withers, please bear in mind that the explosion damage is only prevented above sea level. I don't want players spawning a pet wither in their underground batcave, only to have their cave significantly enlarged.

I'm aware that it's not allowed to use a wither for any industrial works like farms or caving. My Wither is at y57 in my own claim come take a look if you want :)

You are always welcome to visit! Just ask when we are both online! If i'm not online, my base is easy to find. Go to /spawn and walk 200 blocks west from the windmill! :) The zoo is a bit hidden (underground).

But I like to give people a tour! So better wait until i'm online. :)
