Several years ago, user NeoShade had a YT series where he would share links and snippets from videos that he would game to. What do you all listen to when you are playing Minecraft (or any video game)?
When I'm playing, I generally either listen to something by The Carpenters or just the ambient sounds of the game.

i use to listen to alot of country while i played mc but the last year i have been into trap music. i just toss on live trap on youtube and game away :)
-
I enjoy listening to music while I play, it helps my mind generate a flow of ideas for building. I usually listen to lot of different forms of music, though it's mostly country. Also, flying around on an elytra with rockets feels a lot more epic, looping and diving to the beat of the music :P

I like to listen to what Navi and I have lovingly coined ADD radio. It's a little bit of everything, following absolutely no logical pattern whatsoever because I can. Eminem, Panic at the Disco, Weird Al, They Might Be Giants, all things cheesy 80's, show tunes, Skrillex... yeah...
-
I normally listen to my playlist: https://soundcloud.com/noahdwilke/sets/download-2 or i have a Minecraft vid on another screen.
-
What I listen to whilst Minecrafting generally depends on my mood and/or what I'm doing.
For busy/repetitive work, I tend to listen to a bit of Yoshida Brothers.
Blue Stahli is a go-to for combat, along with the recent Doom soundtrack.
For fishing, or hanging out derping around, Ill either put on some Coltrane, Miles Davis, or Robert Johnson.
When nothing else quite seems to fit, Approaching Nirvana is a win every time.
-
For mining i sometimes listen to this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytWz0qVvBZ0 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytWz0qVvBZ0) ;)
But usualy i put on a Tropical Deep house mixtape on or just some kygo mixtape when just relaxing / building etc. Also some classical music or like blues or reggae seems to work fine to calm me down and relax.
Or when i need more power i would go for Hardstyle of Celtic folk metal type of music.

I am really surprised how many people listen to country music. :P
-
Generally I listen to the in game sounds, or specific tracks from the soundtrack for RWBY
-
I don't game that much, but when I do I usually listen to the game's soundtrack (especially for Minecraft, which
is on par with the great film soundtracks, and Pokemon)

This thread got me thinking, So I decided to make a mining playlist! And it's turning out quite well! I have some Red Hot Chili Peppers, Twenty One Pilots, Elbow, Blue October, Beck, Disturbed, David Bowie (R.I.P.), My Chemical Romance.... I can mine for hours! and not realize it!
-
I never listen to music, doesn't feel right. I normally have Netflix or Youtube in the background. On the rare occasion that I do listen to music, i'd just pop on a Apple music playlist. My preference is their 'Friday feeling' playlist (updates every Friday-who'd guess that!).
Thanks,
-Y3Y3 :)

Well I have a playlist of all glitchxcity on soundcloud. If its not that I will listen to 80's music on Iheartradio both are amazing to me to listen to.

On my computer at home that isn't so much of a potato that it can't play web audio and Minecraft at the same time, I have a personalized Pandora station set up to listen to while Minecrafting. It has music from Imagine Dragons, American Authors, and people like that. I tend to feel that country and classical music is waaaay too gentle for my taste.
-
I have a Spotify playlist that I listen to. It has variety of genres including Ska, classic rock, jazz, punk, reggae, and anything along the lines of that. I probably listen to the most Ska though. It is a very much underrated music genre. Some bands are Reel Big Fish, Less than Jake, Catch 22, Goldfinger, Streetlight Manifesto, Sublime.
-
I usually listen to heavy metal while playing, its pretty wicked when you start fighting the mobs :)
-
They should so make more of those
-
When i do use music I tend to stick around lofi or trip hop. Though sometimes I like rock from the vietnam war era
-
I listen to my playlist on Spotify. (Here's a link, don't judge, the newer songs are at the end: https://open.spotify.com/user/22gq37iccmgbjk42gtdmfukya/playlist/5rNMQCOXF2t57sq9MIaqHB (https://open.spotify.com/user/22gq37iccmgbjk42gtdmfukya/playlist/5rNMQCOXF2t57sq9MIaqHB))
Right now I listen to a bunch of random artists but I used to listen to the Chainsmokers a lot
-
Irish folks music, Sea Shanty station on pandora or various levels of rock to metal normally. toss in the occasional Weird Al and Jonathon Coulton and that is my everyday play list stuff :)
-
Generally I try to stick to happy music B-52's station on Pandora. When I need something a bit stronger I go for the Rammestein station. Occasionally when I need to relax I'll go for a Meditation or Classical station.
-
When i'm fishing i like to listen to slow blues. When i'm mineing its Imagine Dragons, Pink, ZZ Top, and Muse. I know that sounds like a strange playlist but i really works for me. Mineing can be such a long grind. When i'm building i sometimes turn it all off because its hard to concentrate on being creative.

I don't really have a favorite artist or group, but I like techno when I want something energetic for strip mining or tedious tasks, and trance when I need to chill a bit. My favorite website to stream it from is di.fm It's a free service with infrequent ads.
-
I have a Pandora station (yep, still using Pandora) that is called Buddah Bar music. It's lounge chill, perfect for MC
-
I don't listen to anything when playing MC sadly
